Re: Founder's Day Dinner

I am being taken along as someone's guest, and now - with a week to go - I am panicking slightly about the dress code. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thank you!!

Re: Barnes A Parents

Wonderful! Where will you be on 28 August? On the ground, staring upwards, with my heart firmly in my mouth!! I was going to post a message about Guy's Tower, but then I saw the posting about the Forum being short of money, so didn't really feel it was appropriate  Anyone who's curious about ...

Re: Barnes A Parents

We are ALL proud of her...................especially the Hertford OBs who contributed to the collective presentation fund which enabled her to get to Horsham in the first place. PS Caron, are you sure she's your's? Only joking..... And when is the Forum going to know about Guy's Tower? How is it go...

Re: Barnes A Parents

and so you should be! She`s shown such a mature attitude to this ..... and she`s a lovely girl! I remember my girls - both BaA, saying she was by far the nicest girl in the house! Ah, that's really nice! And I will pass it on, thank you! I'm proud of her anyway, but despite all of this she has made...

Re: Barnes A Parents

Caron Although I am glad to hear that you think everything is OK I think that it is your daughter's attitude which is the real victory. She has learned to look at the subject from every angle - not just her own - and to make a careful (and sensible) judgement based on all the facts - not just those...

UPDATE Re: Barnes A Parents

Hello Everyone! Just thought I would let you all know the latest on this situation. (Esp. Nicky, whose daughter I have been very worried about). I decided to take some time out before I did anything in order to let emotions (mainly mine!) calm down and then I sat down last weekend with the daughter,...

Re: Barnes A Parents

Missing Holly Burning? What sort of stupid punishment is that? And what is this "standing up if you've ever had a school punishment" thing? I'm all in favour of speaking out if a Housemistress is unreasonable, Caron. I wish that I'd been able to speak out about seven years of DR. Kerren o...

Re: Barnes A Parents

Welcome Kaye, and Wurzel, Caron G is, I believe, a Hertford OB so I am sure she is not making a fuss about nothing. Thanks, englishangel, and yes you're right. And as someone who had to miss one Holly Burning - quite rightly - for an incident from the year before and who took it on the chin with th...

Re: Barnes A Parents

The post makes it easy to work out who the person is, and then is an attack on them and may damage their reputation and affect their ability to make a living. It seems to me that it is a very bad idea to do something like this so publicly. I have had problems with my son's house, and have not alway...

Re: Barnes A Parents

Well my daughter, attending Ba A in September, has just drawn my attention to this and is now well worried..... :? I didnt really need anything else to make her anxious about leaving home. I've just spent the past few months assuring her that she will be well looked after. Nicky Wicked Witch, it ce...

Barnes A Parents

Hello Everyone I haven't posted on here in ages, but yesterday I had an 'altercation' with the Housemistress of Barnes A - of necessity in the reception area, as my wheelchair wouldn't fit easily into her office - about what I considered to be her vindictive and bullying attitude to my daughter over...

Re: You might be a CH geek if (add your own!)

I found The Blue online on the school website today and think I identified the three occasions when GG is pictured. The camo one in the grass with the gun is clearly the winner! P.83 (Rock Concert) in a pair of Jackie O sunglasses! P.116 Borrowdale Trip P.121 is the camo pic P.127 Old Blues rugby (...

Re: You might be a CH geek if (add your own!)

I don't have the Foundation Hymn as my ringtone (didn't know you could, but now I do know ...!) I DO have my house numbers as my lottery numbers! I DO still know the words to the Votum (although I call it the Carmen!) which earned me much respect among my daughter and her friends after a drunken dis...
