I think it's in August after the A/L results come out.
I can't remember why it's so late but I think they wait for the A/L's for some reason.
My son is in 3rd form so I'm trying to think back to last year and when I was asking the same thing !

You know this as fact ? How if you live 250 miles away ?KenHo wrote:I live 250 miles away and can't move to Sussex. If CH starts doing mainly weekly boarding then it will serve the population of Sussex and leafy Surrey. Surrey not being a place well known for its social deprivatiion or lack of good schools.

Re: End of term packing
It is a complete pain bringing everything home. The biggest pain for me is having to find somewhere in the house to store it.
In my son's house he has had a room change or a least a bed change every term to mix the boys up so be warned your child might be going back to the same room or bed space.

Re: New Official CH Parents Forum
My son was told at school last week that CH was losing 2 million a year and at that rate will be closed in about 15 years. So I can see why if that is the case why they want more full fee paying students.

Re: "The Law is an Ass"
[quote="icomefromalanddownunder"]I think that I may have completely missed the point. I assumed that the perceived problem was that Police Officers, and employees of some other organisations, are not permitted to have 'second jobs', and that even if these Officers were doing it for nothing...

Re: Best wishes to all the new second form
Apparently tonight's film is 'Hannah Montana'! The girls are probably loving it, not sure about the boys though :) Funny you should mention that just had a text from my son and when I asked what he'd up to tonight he replied we HAD to watch Hannah Montana. Not impresssed but did go onto say it wasn...

Re: Best wishes to all the new second form
Do you think they can be bribed with lots of treats and chunks of cheese? I need him to say nice things about me, otherwise I fear he may disappear after leave weekend and re-appear in a wardrobe in Horsham! I heard a rumour that a girl did just that but with a rabbit and she kept it under her bed ...

Re: Best wishes to all the new second form
I went through this last year. I wrote to my son but didn't get a letter back ! But I did get emails once his email account was up and running which was during the second week so that was great hearing from him. The housemaster also rang to say he was fine and before the first leave weekend my son w...

Re: Anyone wanting Kukri sports kit let me know!!!
My friend’s children go to Ardingly College and they have Kukri supplying their sports kit. The parents buy it in the onsite school shop.
So perhaps an onsite shop is the answer but finding someone to run it is the next problem!!

Re: Anyone wanting Kukri sports kit let me know!!!
So let me get this right. I can't order a complete games kit until they get a bulk order? My son started at CH last September and has a complete old style games kit which still fits and will be going back to school with it as he hasn't grown out of it yet. But what happens then for example one leave...

Re: GCSE options
What about Spanish ? Does anyone know if that is a GCSE ?
My son (going into 3rd form) seems to think he might be doing it next term but I can't seem to see it listed in the GCSE list.
I'd rather he did that than German (and so does he) but looking at the list he might not be getting that choice.
