Re: Matrons

Some building sites are now breathalysing workers when they arrive on site. When you consider the machinery that is operated and the risks involved this does seem sensible! When I was a houseman at the Royal Free in the early 90s the doctors' mess had a licensed bar which was open at lunchtime (tho...

Re: David Clements

Ettiquette, schmettiquette. In an increasingly impersonal age, I like to think that some things can count for something. It was someone's personal information being sought and whereas it is correct that Tim asked the question publically and set out what he was looking for, I did not feel it was app...

Re: David Clements

Shelfstacker, why don't YOU pm David? PM who? It was DAVID Clements I spoke to on the phone and whose contact details are being sought by TIM. As far as I am aware Mr Clements is not a member of this forum and is therefore unable to receive PMs through it. If you actually meant to ask why I didn't ...

Re: David Clements

Update: I have just, within the last half hour, had a long and very pleasant conversation with Mr Clements. I found his address and phone number filed away. He is still living in the same place in Lowestoft and is in very good health. He sounded it as well! I told him that people were asking after h...

Re: David Clements

I just did a search on 192.com and they only have one listing for a D H Clements in Lowestoft, which is where he was. However he has not been on the electoral roll there since 2002 (as an aside, doesn't time fly? I thought we were in contact more recently than that). I phoned the Lowestoft Registrar...

Re: David Clements

Hi all Does anyone have contact details or news about David Clements, who was assistant bandmaster in the time of David Elliott? (i.e. until c.1990) Thanks Tim He wrote to me a few years ago from an address in Suffolk. I know I've got the letter somewhere but a morning of rummaging around has been ...

Re: Memorial service for Patrick Cullen

"Herr" Cullen taught me O level German. You know the expression "No one forgets a good teacher". I was lucky to be able to name the following whose teaching I can still recite to my children more than a quarter century after leaving CH: Patrick Cullen: German. RIP Richard West: E...

CH Band Album

I was in the band at Horsham under David Elliott and David Clements from 1977 - 1983, playing on two band albums in that time. A few years ago my entire record collection was taken by removal men in a house move, prompting me to move to CDs as replacement. I cannot, for the life of me, find any band...
