Looks very nice. One minor gripe: it appears to use Flash, which means it won't work on an iPhone or iPod touch.
Not something I'd have mentioned, except you said that it would in the other thread.

Re: Snow
Reminds me of a few years ago when we visited a friend in Canada. We went early April, when spring should have started, but they had more unexpected snow just before we arrived. Lots of it. We booked a private flight over Toronto and Niagara - Chris thought it was fabulous but my main memory of it ...

Re: Are you a Maths Whiz?
I think I have it figured out.
If I'm right, it's not really a maths problem as such.
Like MKM, I can't decide between 0 and 1 as the answer, though.

Who are Steve Jobs and Michael Dell? Obviously I didn't have a good enough education at CH! They're businessmen. Steve Jobs founded Apple. Michael Dell also started a computer company. You can probably guess which one. They're significant in the (recent) history of computing. But they're still acti...

Re: Call 112 from a Cell Phone
However, I'm probably being obtuse, but 112 appears just to be an alternative for 999 so I'm still not really sure what it adds?? The benefit of a common emergency number across Europe is that if you have an emergency while travelling in another country, you don't have to waste valuable seconds try...

Re: Call 112 from a Cell Phone
It's sort of true, in a garbled through too many retellings sort of way. 112 is a European standard, so it should connect you to emergency services from any phone in Europe. Europe probably means EU or perhaps EEA for this purpose, but I'm too lazy to look that up. It's also a GSM standard, so shoul...

Re: Summer 2009 'Old Blue'
Looking at the CHA website, where the pdf's are available, they have been split into 3 to make them manageable downloads, since the total is about 10.7MB. Many servers, including the CH server, bounce large e-mail attachments, so this could be a problem. The PDFs can be made smaller, at the expense...

Re: travel stories
Recently, I heard a tale of a young (12) girl, who was put through a good deal of "Hassle" by a Security Official at Bournemouth Airport, because she had, (Naturally) Insulin and Needles. A few years back, my wife was flying with a pair of nail clippers with one of those pop-out nail file...

Much closer to me than to you, but still not somewhere I could get to for a Saturday lunch without getting up stupidly early.

1) If you agreed to your details being passed on for marketing purposes aeons ago, then this is a completely different use of your details and, as such, I would have thought it contravened the DPA. But then I'm not a DPA expert. I think you may be right, but the Information Commissioner's Office ap...

Maybe some of the OBs can comment on this? Certainly it is only within the last year or so that my children seem to have been aware that some of their peers are having to leave school for financial reasons. Almost 20 years ago (was it really that long?), my parents found the contributions difficult...

Re: Computer Question
Removing the drives is a sound approach, but what do you mean by 'throw away'? If you mean you'll physically destroy them, that's one thing. But if you're just tossing them in the garbage, you're not much better off than if you'd given them away. http://www.dban.org/ is worth a look: easy to use and...
