Re: Siblings in different Houses
My brother and I were put in different houses - he was in Maine A (which then moved to Lamb B) whilst I was in Maine B one year below him. I never found out whether my parents specifically asked for me to be in a different house or not, but it never bothered me - we hardly spoke to each other during...

Re: School Prospectus
I got the prospectus. I haven't even looked at it - I don't have children and actually am not intending to have any. Ho-hum.

Re: Appointment of Housemasters
Yes, Frank Pattison was Head of German and later Head of Modern Languages from about 1988 until recently. He was certainly lucky enough to live in East Lodge whilst I was there (I don't know how long he was resident at EL) and when I left the school I presented him with a photograph of the house whi...

Some Sad News - Michael Carrington
It's my sad duty to pass on the news that Michael Carrington, aka JMC (or "Boomer") has passed away. According to Joe Sillett (LHB/LHA 83-90), he was playing golf when he died. A true gentlemen, he taught English during my time at CH, and although I never actually had a lesson with him, we...

Re: House Notes
I remember that the Blue was edited by Richard McCall during my Junior Years. Senior House Notes were always a bit of a laugh, containing much innuendo and nicknames. When I moved to the Senior House, Tim Bryant took over editorial duties and the House Notes became a much more sober affair, with no ...

Re: Out Of Bounds signs.
I don't specifically recall any OOB signs in the 80s. It was all stuff of legend and word of mouth. Unless specifically told, boys would go exploring. And when we were specifically told not to go there, it was like a red rag to a bull

Re: Trasferring between Houses
There were several boys and girls who moved houses for various reasons over the years in the 80s, often because of bad influences, bullying, or simply moving to be with their brothers. Seemed to happen quite a lot, and several ended up in Maine A!

I thought "whatsoever" was usually written as one word? (Or maybe I'm wrong and it is actually slang?)Cazzro wrote:If i had know of the forums formality, I would have made sure i had no grammar mistakes what so ever.

Re: Graham Norton Show
I love the way the James D'Arcy's date of birth is listed as 2 years later on IMDB than it actually is. He was at CH in Lamb B/Lamb A between 1984 & 91 so should be born in 1973... He's obviously trying to keep the dreaded 40 at bay! These actors and their vanity about age  http://www.imdb....

Re: Graham Norton Show
I may well have missed some posts but the last I read was that it was unclear if Taio really was an Old Blue or not. According to the vat of truth ( ) that is Wikipedia, Taio Cruz was educated at Bilton Grange, but this is a Prep school only for ages 4-13. After that he could well have come t...

Re: Report in today's papers
Trevor Hoskins was still there in 1990 (I know this as he stitched up my rather badly cut finger on my last night at CH after an "incident" with some broken glass - still got the scar...) I believe that Dr Kezia Noel-Paton (Duncan from the Theatre's wife) was at some point the schoool's Do...
