Re: Chris Nicholson and other favourite masters...

I ran into Peter Webb (PJHW) over the summer, he tells me that Bomber got that name on account of his habit of wearing a bomber jacket in his early years.

Re: Secret Photos

We didn't have wash basins - we had a long trough so I suppose we had metal bowls for water. The loos (almost equally pubic) were behind the camera person. Ha, it so happens I have the view going the other way, from the bath as it were. The loo is behind the wooden screen at the end (still no door)...

Re: Maine House Photos

Hard but fair is how I will always remember BSG. He was undeniably fond of wielding a gymshoe to a backside but it was invariably deserved, certainly in my case and I speak as one who received quite a few whacks, and he never bore a grudge. Once you were punished that was it - forgotten. One of my ...

Re: Holly Walsh

My spies informed me of the latest developments on this thread, and my solicitors will be contacting Mr Crawshaw shortly. Mrs Ajarn's only comment: "Why aren't you fat in the photo?" Bob was a very keen photographer, as I recall, and may well have a stack of interesting 'real life' CH photos from t...

Re: Col A photos 1970's

You can see all the photos by zooming out a bit, hold down "Ctrl" then press "-" once or twice. Eventually I will work out how to size the photos properly, I suspect their resolution is too high.

Re: Col A photos 1970's

I've had another look at the 1972 picture. Phelan is the guy in the glasses next to Swalwell (later a Cambridge Soccer Blue) not extreme left back row. I think 2nd left back row (next to the phantom Phelan) might well be Bill Oakley and the chap looking down with his arms folded extreme left second...

Re: GRECIANS CLUB

From memory the Club opened towards the end of the summer term 1972 which was the end of the first year. I might be wrong though and it might be 1973. I well remember the place as JamesF35 and I became the first people ever to be suspended for excess drinking in the summer of 1978. Drinks were paid...
