Re: School Dinners In Present Times.

So relieved it's not just my son! I should have said he does like the breakfasts!

Re: School Dinners In Present Times.

Haha John, actually my son probably would have preferred the food in the "good old days" as he likes basic traditional cooking and nothing too fancy! I didn't mean to be disparaging about people's posts re food in days gone by, it's just I was genuinely interested to hear whether most children like ...

Re: School Dinners In Present Times.

He can cook and is quite inventive in the kitchen so there is some hope for his time in Grecians. He can also bake very good home made bread so maybe he can start a Grecians bakery! I don't think he is really fussy , I have no trouble keeping him well fed but as I say I avoid the few ingredients tha...

Re: School Dinners In Present Times.

I think maybe my son is just too fussy. He eats absolutely everything at home but then I try and avoid the two things he really doesn't like, mushrooms and onions. He can spot a mushroom or a shred of onion at 100yards and apparently everything with a sauce at CH has one or the other in (or both) !

School Dinners In Present Times.

My son is always complaining about the food at CH. I'm interested to know whether this is just him being a fussy eater or whether other children say the same? I must say I have had a couple of lunches at CH and I thought they were very good!

Re: SPECIAL NEEDS AT CH

I have no direct knowledge regarding how well the school caters for "special needs" pupils. Definitely you should check with the school. However I can confirm that my son has had very good pastoral care in his house, he is a current pupil.

Re: Sunday Visits at CH

Yes it seems fairly flexible you can take them out/visit after chapel on Sundays. They just have to be back beore 7pm. I always e.mail our Housemaster beforehand to check its ok, but it always has been. The only thing I do know is that the school is not keen on pupils missing chapel, I gather they a...

Re: New Sports Kit - question!

I was impressed by how quickly the new sports kit I ordered arrived, it came the next day. I think the sizes were as expected / described. My first lot of sports kit purchased 3 years ago is finally outgrown, I'm hoping this second lot will last for the rest of his CH career so I have gone slightly ...

Re: Gary Lineker

My son was shown briefly on the TV so he is now delighted! At least there were a few minutes of Ch shown
, I had feared it would be briefer than that.

It was the Telegraph on Saturday. It wasn't actually me who read it, it was my wife but I think the article was a general one regarding the Lawson family.

Deputy Head

I read in the paper at the weekend that Tom Lawson (son of Nigel and brother of Nigella) is to be the new Deputy Head at CH.

Welcome Silverlise, nearly 4 years since we went through the admissions procedure, I still remember it well. My son has been at CH for 3 years now and he loves it. Hope it goes well for you, any questions please ask.

Re: Vaughan Holme

It is terribly sad, Vaughan has been a wonderful houseparent and an inspiration to the boys in Maine A. As a Parent I shall miss him goodness knows what it must be like for the pupils, however he will never be forgotten by them, of that I am certain.
