Re: R.N. Chadwick. (Middleton B) [STILL LOOKING...]
I finally found out some more details about the paint plant: "Pinchin Johnson & Associates Ltd. was a major supplier of paints for a large range of end-users during the first half of the 20th century. The company was part of the original FT 30 index. History - The business was founded in 18...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread
Hello!! I see huge congratulations are in order to you and your children!! In the end my son didn't want to continue with the application - he said that he didn't want to go away to school and wanted to stay to look after me  and I just couldn't reassure him enough that I'd be okay on my own to...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread
Thank you Yada Yada and Cupcake Mom - how are you finding it all being CH parents? How do your children find CH? I have so many questions!
Of course, I just shown myself to be a utter fool by calling it the First Form when, of course, I did mean the Second Form! Oh the shame!!

2012 Admissions Thread
Hello all
Who's in favour of a 2012 first form admissions support thread?
Received a letter from CH on Friday with the arrangements for the initial tests in October and the residential tests.
Who wants to hold virtual hands? This is all quite bewildering!

Re: Berkshire Parents
I made the suggestion many months ago that we could map all parents/old blues by the first part of their postode, using Google Maps. Very easy, and doesn't identify exactly where individuals live. I offered to do this for them - all I needed was the Postcode roots, but following a couple of mention...

Re: Donation Governors List
I too was told that we would hear about the end of April. Or was it March? Can't remember, but have as yet heard nothing. Oh dear. One more thing to agonise about. One would assume that the governors with presentations would want to take a while to decide which child to present, not rush it after t...

Re: Parental Contribution
Has 'learning support' always been a paid-for extra at CH?
Just looking over the new fees PDF on the website and noticed it. Is this any different to how it has been previously?

Re: Parental Contribution
... I was trying to be diplomatic  It's such a shame because it doesn't seem the same school as the one I noticed by chance in my local newspaper some time ago. It offered a real ray of hope when there was none. It even seems to be marketing itself as an entirely different to the school I subm...

Re: Parental Contribution
I'm also slightly bothered about the "academic high-flyers" business. I'm obviously hopelessly behind the times here but I thought that CH was all about offering an excellent educational opportunity to bright children to whom it would not otherwise be on offer, and for whom, in addition, ...

Change of presentations for 2012?
I've just been advised by the Admissions Office that presentations are now determined AFTER the initial OCTOBER assessments, this is different to what I understood (I had earlier this year been told that they'd let people know by the end of April and that assessments were in November) so just wanted...

Do you get a choice between London or CH for the tests? Or do CH determine which venue you get?
Is the London venue Fulham Prep?
