Re: "Official" Parents' Forum

I've had some fantastic support on here from other parents privately via PMs or emails and have found wonderful new friends. This forum is the best I've ever belonged to. It does what it says it wants to do.

Re: "Official" Parents' Forum

I got details of how to log on to it with the starter pack and did so, but there was nothing on it worth looking at. I guess everyone is on here.

Re: St Matthews Day Parade

I guess if the congregation has to be seated by 10.30 and the service starts at 11, then the marching school party will arrive somewhere in the middle of those times to take up their places. We have decided to try to be outside a bit earlier than we thought at first so we can watch them arrive too.

Re: St Matthews Day Parade

I rang up the school and was told 11.45 outside St Pauls to see them come out and march off, if that is any help.

Re: Just checking....shoes

I couldn't get doc martens anywhere, not unless they were shiny patent leather and I really couldn't see my ds being too happy going to school in those, so I resorted to amazon and they arrived within days. I am resorting to the inserts though as he is a half size at the moment.

Re: PE kit

What is the old PE kit like then Pinkhebe? This is that kind of nylonny stuff rather, as you suggested, like swimwear, and I always tumble the swimwear at our house. Maybe it does come out nearly dry. I shall cross my fingers but I have heard terrible stories about the CH laundry, including what the...

PE kit

Hi, we just went today and picked up the PE kit for our son who is starting in the second form next week. I got it home and have just finished sewing in the name tabs. THEN I noticed the washing instructions on most of it - DO NOT TUMBLE DRY - HANG UP TO DRY ONLY. Does the school do this with ALL th...

Re: laptops

As a parent of a child about to go into the second form, I rather foolishly had taken this letter as being good, until I read this thread and changed my mind! I can quite see now all the problems likely to occur, and it fills me with dread as without doubt my son would be led astray out of curiousit...

I think it's a really nice thing to do and our son's governor is absolutely lovely.

Re: Lincolnshire Donation Governor

So he didn't get an easier ride by being presented because he got his place first. If it is an easier ride that is. Not really sure how it works despite long explanations previously.

Re: Lincolnshire Donation Governor

My son is starting in September this year but was not awarded his presentation until AFTER the January assessments which rather puzzled me. Maybe the governor's first choice didn't make the grade I suppose.

Re: Contributions

That IS kind of worrying Ailurophile! Of course, people in all walks of life make mistakes and none of us are infallible but where money is concerned we all hope the people dealing with it turn out to be the exception to the rule.

Re: Contributions

Wow,
that is quite a big leap up - an extra 7% virtually doubles your previous payment I imagine. Oh dear, good luck on the reassessment.
