Re: Home visit from a busar
Hi there, I’m a current parent at CH. We never had a bursar visit from CH, but I gather they can select at random, even for parents already in receipt of a bursary. My daughter did spend two years at another private school and we did have a visit from a company that reported back to them for bursary...

Re: Bursary information
[quote="] In the current economic climate, what in heaven’s name makes CH think that middle income families can afford a higher percentage of the fees? In my experience they are woefully out of touch with reality when it comes to these matters! Last year the HM himself told me that even some lo...

Re: Bursary information
Just checked the bursary table, this was the new version bursary, my DS is on the system before this. Having said that, as the have removed the table from any obvious location on the website I would be inclined to use it as a very very rough guide! Their own financial statement last year confirmed t...

Boys PE kit available!
My ds has been inconsiderate enough to grow out of his entire sports kit!! It's all in pretty good condition, the rugby shorts are cotton twill so have faded slightly, but no holes and plenty of wear left. Items available are; 2x reversible sports /rugby tops - size small adults (excellent condition...

Re: Rupert Farquhar-Thomson in last week's Observer
Wow, that makes seriously depressing reading. My DD decided she wanted to be an author when she was 5, she's 10 now; I think I'll try and persuade her otherwise, unless she comes up with the next Harry Potter or Twilight!

Re: 2014 Admissions
Hi & welcome Old Mathomas. Can't speak from experience on year nine entry, but can give a bit of insight hopefully! Uniforms - normally a bit chaotic, even if you are very accurate with your measurements most kids seem to end up in the wardrobe department. In my sons house (he joined yr 7) they ...

Re: 2014 Admissions
I think KES has pretty low numbers, hence taking on unsuccessful CH candidates. We looked round it for my ds 4 years ago, it's not a patch on CH. Bursaries are nowhere near as generous, I think the max is 50% from memory and I'm not aware of there being any reciprocal arrangement between CH & KE...

Re: 2014 Admissions
Sadly, my DD was not successful, I have made an appeal and it's been over a week and we've had no reply or acknowledgement of mt email. Their appeal process states that you should hear back within two weeks. As to KES, think you have to decide whether to appeal or have your applications forwarded, ...

Re: 2014 Admissions
Has the School ever issued a statement on their policy regarding siblings entrance ? In the 'good-old days' , siblings seemed to have no trouble at all on gaining entry. Is this 'money' thing rearing its head yet again ?? The sibling policy was removed from the website a couple of years ago John. A...

Re: 2014 Admissions
Does anyone know of any sibling that got in? As far as I can make out no one who posted here did, nor did the others I know of from school.
