Re: Girls' cricket?

I'm not surprised and it's certainly in line with what I'd heard from others although I must admit to previously doubting that a school would be quite so dismissive of the parents and I can't pretend it doesn't urk/ hurt a little. It sometimes seems we're good enough to contribute/ pay the fee's but...

Re: Girls' cricket?

My DD started school with Inys and is in the same house, I know the girls are very proud of Inys and her cricketing achievements. Has the school considered asking if any local parents could help out with activities like cricket etc? Perhaps even a local cricket team like Southwater. I know that not ...

Re: Allowed Expenses

I'd missed that, Section B also mentions providing copies of documents relating to allowed household expenses but it doesn't seem to say what these now are...... Well I'm feeling a little happier now!

Re: Allowed Expenses

I knew they had changed the way the bursaries were calculated, but I seem to remember a letter saying that this would only be in relation to new students and those existing students already on a bursary would be calculated using the original method. To be honest I'm a little worried about this and o...

Re: Allowed Expenses

Hi

We had to provide all that info last year but the paperwork received today for the Bursary application doesn't ask for any details re water, insurance etc. Do you think we got the wrong paperwork?

Re: New Entrants'Day

Are we allowed to say Squits? :D Because we're local DD was asked to help out with the assessment weekend and she was amazed at just how much she'd already learnt about the school and its amazing history, she seemed to walk a little taller when she got home from those two days and it certainly put t...

Re: New Entrants'Day

Atticus is right, there is no need to worry about washing etc at leave weekends, the only thing we do is get her to change in to home clothes as soon as she is home so her school civvies can be washed and dry ready to wear for the return trip. I have to be honest we messed up at our NED. We'd not re...

Re: New Entrants'Day

My previous attempt to respond doesn't seem to have appeared. It was brilliant! OK maybe not but the gist of it was that you shouldn't worry, everything starts to fall in to place at the NED and the matron and house parent will be able to point you in the right direction with regard to any kit...

Re: New Entrants'Day

My DD was most put out when the tuck shop moved further away from her house but I'm sure the home made cake will make up for it!

Re: New Entrants'Day

I can't comment on what sports kit a boy would need however, shopping options for school uniform in the Horsham area are Broadbridges in Piries Place(they are the old school supplier but are also the main supplier for most of the state schools in the area, note they aren't open on a Sunday), BHS in ...

Re: New Entrants'Day

My question is, can we order the sports kit earlier than NED? As we are in France, I would prefer it if we could pick it up on NED rather than order it. Anyone know if that is possible at all? I'm not sure about ordering items prior to the NED, I certainly don't know if you would be able to pick up...

Re: New Entrants'Day

We could never get organised enough to use the thrift shop but wish we had and we're hoping to be much more switched on this year. I've never been in there myself but my DD raves about it and has a lot of time for the "lovely lady who runs it". I think she spends as much of her pocket mone...

Re: New Entrants'Day

I'm afraid I can't recall the timings either although MW224's recollection rings a bell. I have to be honest the scrum for the clothing was so ridiculous we skipped out on that and ordered the sports clothes online, with the exception of the house t shirt, although I'd suggest you get the order in a...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread

Congratulations to all the DC's who have got in, I'm relieved the wait is over for you and that you can now look forward to the coming months I know my DD is looking forward to being a nurse maid for the new intake. As for travel to and from Gatwick, this is a very straightforward journey, Gatwick b...
