Re nicknames I agree with Osram (Mr Lorimer) and Pegleg (Kit Aitken) Bogey (Fryer) etc. but I don't remember too many more. No, no, no, no! As I recall (LHB, 1965-7), 'nose-blowing by numbers' took place in the morning after breakfast in the day room. The procedure was (with a military intonation): 'Handkerchiefs....out!!!' 'Blow........ noses, ONE! TWO! THREE! etc..' 'Handkerchiefs...away!' But I also wanted to mention ...
