Re: Did anyone know?
1. I had a feeling you might mention Webb. But there are differences in that the pupils weren't given alcohol. Besides, i view his using alcohol as a 'mitigating' circumstance as lame as the "they were asleep" excuse, especially considering he used them post 1980 offences. Furthermore, al...

Re: Response from the Head Master
Presumably Charles the school has been told by the insurers to admit nothing and agree nothing in case it is construed as an admission of liability. Agreed. Sad that the financial side precluded them getting out in front of this from the start. Maybe there is a business case to be made to the insur...

Re: Poulton, Cairncross, Sillett
Accountability, integrity, honesty.....didn't the Judge make comments about the SMT last year that mentioned the absence of these?

Vilified, I don't like your name-calling or your attempts at legal landscape gardening.

Otter, yes it looks like McCall.
If anyone is looking for him via Ken Grimshaw, there are some potential schools mentioned here: https://www.learnpick.com/thailand/writ ... tutor/3038

The jury are aware of the prev convictions, if that helps calm any concern in this area.

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
Practical note on the trial if anyone is thinking about going down: The prosecution case is def concluded. Trial resumes in the morning with the start of cross examination of GWD. There was also talk from the defence of a witness being interposed as some point in the next day or two. There is a sche...

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
Looks like witness two was sworn today but their evidence was not concluded. Was anyone in court today who can clarify?

The Blue - digitised/images
Does anyone know whether archive copies of The Blue have been digitised somewhere? I've looked on the current CH website and can't find anything older than a couple of years.

@dazedandconfused:
Yes, that's my understanding. I hope to be in court when that individual gives evidence. If that happens, I can report back but only with details okayed by JT first.

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
I couldn't make it down today. Did anyone manage to?
From causelist, looks like witness one has finished giving evidence.
Does anyone know whether witness two is timetabled for Friday or Monday?
Cheers.

Re: Trial of Gary William Dobbie
I went down to Hove for the hearing today. If anyone is thinking about going along, a couple of practical things: There is no sitting on Thursday 25th and the judge told the jury that the case will probably be finished on/by Friday of next week. Witness evidence begins tomorrow morning, around 10.30...

Re: All this is incredibly sad
But the Queen's club isn't - I think Rockfreak is making a good point about the level of vulnerability of the student body at CH compared with other schools or institutions. It makes you wonder about Dobbie at Shrewsbury, which I understand to be an expensive private school. Would he have been as s...
