I have been trying to follow the general train of thought on this thread. I noticed on my last visit to the school, how much the general ethos has changed. In my day it was a good Public school for mainly deprived children with an above average level of intelligence. Last year, I gained the distinct...

There were plenty of immigrant staff in the kitchens in the 60's !

Mainly Spanish or Italian.

One real stunner was getting a regular 'seeing-to' by one of the Col B Grecians, who shall remain nameless ! (No ! It wasn't me. I never stayed long enough to get all those buttons !!)

Anyone remember the math teacher who would throw chalk (fairly accurately) at any boy talking in class? YES ! Bob ?? And I'll have to think of his Surname ! He is still alive and weel, and I met him last year at a house re-union. When it comes to me, I'll post ! Still can't think of his SURNAME. Hi...

Jan suggests you check out the Web !

There are probably as many Pagans in this country as PRACTISING C of E members !

Paganism started before the Druid movement.

Interesting subject.

Suggest we get a 'Chat-Room' on here. I have E-Mailed JTaylor to that effect !

I can only assume that they didn't exist in Coleridge B.

NTF was my Housemaster from start to finish, and I'm SURE we didn't do 'em !

If I hear from Andrew Fawcett, I'll ask him. (Used to be his 'bat-man')

LAMMA LOOKER. The Welshman you are referring too, must surely be NORMAN T FRYER. (My Housemaster in Col. B) )Not the Maths teacher I'm thinking of !) I believe NTF commited suicide on moving from C.H. to another school. In his day, he played for London-Welsh. 'Bogie' Fryer - he taught me as well. H...

Thanks - of course Rip Kirby and NellTodd. I was taught the art of cursive handwriting by Nell because my "art" was so bad. Won the writing prize as a result and was then punished by having to write out the inserts for all leaving bibles andprayer books for the next three years. If you le...
