Re: The trial of James Andrew Husband and Gary Dobbie

How depressing is that. I know there is still more to come but so far 19 people whose parents trusted the school to protect their children have had to relive an awful ordeal that should never of happened Without wanting to a) sound pedantic or b) downplay the number of victims, the number of witnes...

Re: The trial of James Andrew Husband and Gary Dobbie

Unsure if anybody is aware but causelist does give a brief summary of the events of each day along with the case reference which can be used to ask the court for any updates. http://causelist.org/d/31qejnzv5m13e/ I cannot see that the trial will last six weeks unless there are 50 plus witnesses... ...

Re: Damian Le Bas, Radio 4 Book of the Week

I feel sure that in the past, especially in the so called "lower classes", prejudices were not as rampant as they now seem to be. When you look at how the poor used to live when we were young there was not much difference between standards. I can remember the kettle springing a leak and it was the ...

Re: The trial of James Andrew Husband and Gary Dobbie

I think Verisona Law went to one of the sentence hearings. I would be interested to go but it is a bit of a trek. That won't stop me though. We have been to a number of days during the various trials. A little manic at the moment, but hoping to attend a number of days on this to try and support tho...

The second witness was sworn to give evidence at 3.07 p.m today.

The first witness started giving evidence early on Monday morning, so a long time.
Thanks Richard. Nothing from the press at the moment.

Re: The trial of James Andrew Husband and Gary Dobbie

A lot of things have occurred to me John which will have to wait. There is one thing that is uncontroversial that I would be interested to know, so that I can understand the chronology. Husband taught me in the 1974-5 school year. He is 68 now and so he would have been about 24 then. I guess it was...

Re: The trial of James Andrew Husband and Gary Dobbie

Thanks again for the update, Richard.

Having read that article in depth, I could make a couple of comments but will wait to see how the jurors take the evidence when presented.

If you remember, Katharine, I spent most of my school days in trouble because I constantly rebelled against the petty restrictions!
That seems rather similar to my past, hence another reasaon for me to determine an early exit after 'O' levels
