Re: Transcripts

I would of thought it worrying for a Judge after having all previous sentences given in an on-going trial increased by the AJ.

Possibly getting near a 'slap on the wrist' time.

Re: Who Knew What?

It depends how you define who, knew, and what. On one occasion, probably in 1978 or 1979, the entire dining hall united in a chant of 'Pedo!, Pedo!, Pedo!, Pedo!, ...' while Peter Webb attempted to officiate at tea. This was extremely loud with a lot of shouting, banging of cutlery on tables, etc. ...

Re: A WAY AHEAD?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rupert_Jackson Lives in Surrey, Eh ? Not a bad choice. A touch older than me, so our paths may well have crossed at Horsham, though I don't re-call the name, apart from the fact his surname was also my Mothers maiden name. No connection as far as I am aware. My mothe...

Rupert Jackson is a now retired appeal court judge and OB to boot. He would be ideal.
Sounds to be just the man, but wouldn't some people say there was a conflict of interest ?

Re: A WAY AHEAD?

To be totally honest, I've never ever had the greatest confidence in any Government proposed enquiry. I still think the Grenfell Enquiry will be decorated with a large coating of whitewash, finger pointing and blaming all but the real guilty. But Hey-Ho , thats allegedly democracy for you when polit...

Re: Management knowledge of the Husband/Dobbie cases

JR. I am slightly surprised at the warnings given to you by the Clerk to the Court. My understanding is that what is said is, with exceptions, public knowledge and if required a transcript should be available. The exceptions include if a witness is not named, information which could lead to their n...

Re: A WAY AHEAD?

We'll just have wait and see how things pan out over the coming weeks. and exactly what are you/we waiting for until action? Irons hot strike A good idea in principle, but I can see a lot of hurdles to get over. Hurdles are there to be smashed through and destroyed - both them and those who create ...

How about you, JR? Did you ever play the whistle again after giving up refereeing?

Re: When You Left CH, Did You Cease to Have Access to the Musical Instrument You'd Learned How to Play?

I was a ‘cellist and sang a lot at CH - music was definitely one of the biggest and best things I took away from CH, and my vast majority of close friends were from music. I’d been lucky enough to play a loan instrument whilst at CH, which was amazing quality. When I left my 18th birthday present f...

Well, as the oldest Moderator on this site, I have been following this thread with interest and wasn't going to comment. I see Tim said he was leaving here for good. That's his perogative, BUT , I am going to make things crystal from the start. On arrival at the Court, Richard and I introduced ourse...

Re: Today's the day

I have been back a few times since 1963. Things have changed beyond belief. The atmosphere alone is totally different. In my day, the school was almost run on military lines. I think the major change started after the departure of CME Seaman. There seemed to be a quick flurry of HM's after that, pos...
