Re: Date of sentencing of Webb and Burr

Last Friday's piece in the Brighton Argus concludes with the words 'The trial continues', so presumably there's been a hold-up of some kind, as the Saturday edition didn't mention the trial at all. http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/national/16157978.Coach_accused_of_giving_naked_massages_c...

Re: Coleridge: the bones

A very interesting article, Michael.

Maybe a more fitting interment for STC and his family could be arranged.

After all, a certain Monarch found in a midlands car park was re-buried more majestically.

Re: Revamping of Christ Church Newgate St

Another change to have occurred in this area is the re-erection of Temple Bar (which once stood in Fleet St. and was removed as an impediment to traffic, being moved to Theobalds Park in Herts.) in a position roughly corresponding to . that of the group of cranes in John's bottom picture above{/b} ...

Re: Sentence of Peter Webb referred to Court of Appeal

I haven't had time to scan all Crown Court lists etc. Does anyone know if the 'not-guilty' pleas have started yet, and if so, where ?

Something's gone wrong with the drill. We were told 'Take with the left, shake with the right, bow to the Lady Mayoress'.
Could it be that the photograph is reversed? Look at how the coat buttons up.
Well done, Insp. Maigret !!

I believe one or more of the NOT guilty pleas are to be heard this or next week, supposedly at Lewes CC.

Re: Barnes B 1954 to 1955

I would like to ask if an omission on the Barnes B photograph of 1955 could be corrected - the second row correctly identifies C J Jelley and A N Barnard, but omits J W B Read seated between them. James Walter Beaton Read (Jimmy) was my closest friend, but died of Hodgkin's disease tragically young...

Re: Who's Blue

Are there any plans to publish an updated Who's Blue ? It is now 22 years since the last one in 1996. I believe that there are Data Protection ramifications which have developed since 1996. Indeed even more stringent regulations become operative in May. Despite pointing out the issue I do not profe...

Things resembling bolios (hard cylindrical pillows) are common in Germany. They're called 'Nackenstützen' (neck-rests or 'neck-supports') and many people swear by them.
And there was me thinking that meant "Crushed Nuts" !!

"Up Tinf" maybe that should go on the Housey slang strand, but - it would probably be lost on them.
I have heard this one before, but memory fading. Might have been on this site, or at Horsham mid-sixties.
