Re: Dobbie's departure

He was being offensive, as he knows, which is why I invited him to say what he was insinuating.

Re: Dobbie's departure

Correct. It comes back to the fact that you are an apologist and will do all you can to smear the unity of former pupils in their horror at what has happened.

Feel free to tell me I am wrong.

He was referred to as ERM, unless the E was added to differentiate him from RM.

Re: Address to the Governing Council help please

Rob, I am not going to wish you luck because you don't need it. What you say will come very much from the heart and will be said with not just passion, but raw emotion. Can I suggest three things? You invite the following from the Council: 1. The Council write to each and every person who has made d...

Re: Phone boxes

I was telephoned by a "man from the insurers" who was making sure that I had recovered all my losses from the accident. On questioning he couldn't tell me when the accident was but it was "within the last three years". Complete bollards. He eventually put the phone down on me after we had had a whis...

Re: Should there be a separate sub-forum for the “historic abuse” threads?

I quite agree. Julian ??? Yes - as a separate area separate to General Chat - non CH. A suitable title might be " Horsham Historical Abuse" or similar (I haven't heard a peep about this type of abuse at Hertford but if there was some ......) Yes there was abuse at Hertford but it has got rather bur...

Re: Who Knew What?

I didn't look at the Foundation, just the first charity in the list.

Good to see there is money out there to educate for many years to come.

Re: Who Knew What?

https://www.christs-hospital.org.uk/information/publications/financial-statements-2016-17/ Page 6 says 405.2m pounds in invested assets in 2017...it is probably a lot more now. Thanks. I hadn't seen that. The accounts filed with Charity Commission show a significantly lower asset figure. Not much c...

Re: Dobbie's departure

It was before 2016. Had the school done something then the police would have been involved earlier. I am curious about Golfer's knowledge about this as it suggests that he is aware from other sources of the disclosure to the school's child protection officer. I would be interested to hear what date ...

Re: Did anyone know?

I would go straight to the police.

This is absolutely crucial information and could lead to new lines of inquiry.

The police can speak to police that the school cannot. Those on here who have contacted the police have been impressed by how carefully they dealt with the information.

Re: Dobbie's departure

The disclosure to CH's child protection officer coming more than a decade after Dobbie had left, I believe. I confess that I don't know what the correct procedure is in such circumstances. A school doesn't have the ability to conduct a full and fair investigation because it can't compel key people ...

Re: Dobbie's departure

Much to ponder for me and the school, Ross. I wish I had done something to help but I didn't and that's something I have to live with. In response to CodFlabAndMuck I would say that MidA from the outside seemed a house which was popular with the boys. In addition I had the impression that it came t...
