Re: Politics

Banker Brown suggests that the Forum has deleted part of his post, and maybe it is this that is causing him to rage in impotent fury. I'm interested to know how all this works since I also missed the original posts by aliburns and the first I knew of them was that there was a long sequence saying "...

Re: Hello! I'm back! Is there anybody here?

' Spoony' is a relic from the seventies, maybe even late sixties, who posts under the pseudonym Spoonbill. He does have a tendency to be a little mischievous from time to time hence the reference to Barnes Wallis bouncing bombs. However when in serious (ish) mode he is capable of descriptive writing...

Re: Hello! I'm back! Is there anybody here?

Welcome back Ruthie! Yes the forum is a lot quieter than the days when oldies like me struggled to keep up with the prolific posting of you, Great Plum and others back in the day. There is still a small but regular hardcore here though and, as Rockfreak said, the forum comes to life from time to tim...

Re: Ajaz Karim found guilty

Martin Bell. When can I collect my prize please? If you are referring to the Martin Bell who is being exploited on Facebook I consider him to be a businessman and not a politician. i could be wrong so please come and make your case in Washington DC. Sorry no idea who you’re talking about. I mean th...

Re: Ajaz Karim found guilty

I cannot find any reason for deletion or editing of the above . BUT...... please think twice before typing. There could still be the chance of an appeal after sentencing is handed down. One good thing about 'Operation Yew Tree' and the BBC scand a ls is that it has persuaded people to speak out at ...

Re: Ajaz Karim found guilty

I remember going along to a House Baths session when I was 14 and being struck down by a nasty bout of cramp in one of my legs while I was swimming, so I hauled myself out onto the side of the pool. The master who was supervising the session saw that I had cramp, so he hunkered down at the poolside...

Re: Ajaz Karim found guilty

As the father of 3 daughters I have one observation.

How come, in a co-educational environment, a male teacher was apparently allowed to massage or even mix with naked or semi naked female pupils without a female (teacher, matron) being present?

Re: Can you identify this pupil from 1969?

Sadly Mike Trubridge, the originator of this thread, is shown as 'no longer with us' in the newsletter I received from Gina Skillings today. I'm shocked having met him again in 2012 at the 40 years on event. At that time he still looked fit enough to be eminently capable of giving a good account of...

Re: Old Blue Rugby 'Blues'

Is there a list of 1st XV captains? There is for OBRFC 1st XV Captains, but I don't know about CH Captains. There is an excel sheet showing every known OBRFC official from 1873, plus a list of known CH 1st XV captains, but very incomplete. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvELOxEU5ZhmdF...

Re: Old Blue Rugby 'Blues'

This name may not be applicable strictly, given Ali's OBRFC membership qualification for his list, but, dragging myself out of the seventies to somewhere near the present day, Andrew Higgins had a distinguished career for a number of Premiership clubs, most notably Bath, and also represented England...

Re: Old Blue Rugby 'Blues'

Having been for a while the OBRFC archivist I compiled this list from club fixture cards, the Blue and other documents: Old Blues rugby players of note: Biddell. W ‘Bill’ Cambridge University Constantine. Hugh A Leicester, England Trial Costin. Maurice O Eastern Counties Cullen. John Cambridge Univ...

Re: Who's Blue

Are there any plans to publish an updated Who's Blue ? It is now 22 years since the last one in 1996. I believe that there are Data Protection ramifications which have developed since 1996. Indeed even more stringent regulations become operative in May. Despite pointing out the issue I do not profe...
