Added a few more old pictures - some blurry and over-exposed - but nonetheless nostalgic!
I know it's a Hertford thread, but I spy Rob Fabbri and Chris Burns in the St Matthews parade photo.

Re: School Monitors

good point DavidRawlings.........though do you have to be looking 'into' the sun to be sensitive to glare on a very sunny day?

but on balance, I'll settle for it being glare from the headmaster's Brylcreem

....or the Dining Hall windows

Slipped under the OB radar?

One 'Notable Old Blue' who seems to have slipped under the radar is Mark Baker. Entering the school in 1973, he only lasted two or three years and his subsequent story, whilst almost certainly not shaped by his time at CH, is a testimony to the diversity of CH's intake. Mark was in Leigh Hunt B and ...

Re: GRECIANS CLUB

As a Mummy of a now third former - my fond memories of the Grecians Club are being bused in from Bramley, Guildford (St Catherines Girls School) for sixth form dances... we were the last ones in 1985 before CH became co-ed at Horsham. Fond memories of sitting across the room from all the boys, bein...

Re: SHOES !!!!!!

Oh! Don't know. Possibly because she only had 2 weeks left of the school year and it wasn't worth buying new ones? Or here's a thought - maybe she was in Horsham buying new shoes?! Or shoe polish?! Of course, once upon a time the school provided the shoes as part of the uniform; no buying your own.

Re: MISSING OLD BLUE - PLEASE READ

I was at school with a Nick Funnell who dated JMC daughter for a while. He had an elder brother too several years above me but the age is about 2 years out... Be interesting to know what has happened.... That would have been Augustus "Gus" Funnell, arrived as a 3rd former in 1974, was in ...

Re: Was CH Horsham Designed to Be Gay?

Just why where there no doors on some of the toilets ? Why no privacy in the bath in the lavends? Why huge showers? Isn't this an example of quite the opposite? Toilets with no doors means nothing "untoward" can happen in private, behind closed doors. Surely the thinking was that getting ...

Re: The Houseblock Lofts

No - not the name of a band. I was wondering whether any of you ever ventured into the seldom-visited lofts of the old houseblocks at CH Horsham. I was always rather amazed by the fact that whilst Tubing was relatively commonplace, exploring the lofts was apparently unknown. Anyone? Yes! Barnes B c...
