Susannah Fielding on TV this evening

Apologies for the short notice, but the second series of BBC1's This Time with Alan Partridge begins tonight at 9.30pm, with Susannah Fielding (Glanville-Hearson, Coleridge B & Grecians West 2001-03) returning to the role of Jennie Gresham, Alan's long-suffering co-host. She certainly made her m...

Re: Curious

After Webb was given the boot, it came to my ears that he'd been dismissed for exactly what he had indeed been dismissed for: fondling boys in the dormitory at night. And yet I had left the school years before he was booted out. So how can it be that I, an Old Blue, got to hear about the real reaso...

Re: CH featured in London Financial Times newspaper last weekend

It seems surprising to me that the vast majority of the Grecians East house have no buttons The explanation is that in the CH context the meaning of the word Grecian has changed. By the time I was there in the Seventies, it meant simply "member of the Upper Sixth". The aristocrats in thei...

Re: Birthday Honours 2014

He really only taught the violin (maybe piano on the side), and was not much in evidence otherwise. He was much more in evidence in the mid-to-late Seventies, when he was the original administrator of the CH Arts Centre. His wife was Olive Peto's deputy as School Librarian, and they had (at least?)...

Birthday Honours 2014

An MBE "for services to music and for charitable services" has been awarded to Alan Wilkinson of King's Lynn, Honorary Music Director and Co-Founder of Music In Country Churches (see website below). This must surely be the former CH music master of the same name (Horsham Staff 1957-80) who...
