Re: Peele B St Matthews Day 1969 - I think

Hey Perry

To be pedantic it's actually Peele... both A and B; you should spot George Matcham, Keith Holmes, Andrew Sainsbury, Colin Roy and me just behind Peele A, and there is a Thornton presence as well just behind us! so...

Re: End of Lent Term - another Post Mortem

I cannot believe the insensitivity of some people! This thread started with an informative and personal account of a parent and son's experience for which huggermugger should be applauded. It is not easy to share negative experiences and harsh responses are not going to encourage others to share the...

Re: First Day.....Last Day

Wow - aghast - I was sent to Harley Street by my father ( a not very nice man to say the least) as I apparently was mentally unstable - when we arrived I was asked to go into a room and talk to this doddery old man - I sat there - silent (was told never speak until you are spoken too) so when he fi...

Re: First Day.....Last Day

You were ASKED to LEAVE??????????????????????????????? OMG... WHAT did you do (other than smoke)??? A long story Jude, cut short I had spent a large amount of the Michaelmas term in the infirmary, with visits to psychiatrists and psychologists, without being given a diagnosis, but taking quite a fe...

Re: First Day.....Last Day

first day arrived in car with trunk at Maine B. Introduced to my nursemaid, waved bye to parents then picked up uniform and shoes. Speared myself at least five times as I palpably failed to do my bands. Tried to bounce on my bed and sent four planks crashing to the floor. Cried myself to sleep for t...

Re: Sex 'n' Drugs 'n' Rock'n'Roll Part 1: Substance Abuse

A number of boys continued to experiment when they/we got back. There were rumours of local drug dealers visiting the school during the next ter...

I got really confused when I saw Labrynth by Kate Mosse. Totally misread the author name and wondered whether it was a "rehab with Pete" book.

Then I realised the book is actually bigger than that Kate and she couldn't have lifted it let alone wrote it!
