Re: So, the underground tunnels...

He didn't get far, he was back in Greek and Latin class in no time. The other boys were not nice to him and he was generally misunderstood, sad.

Re: So, the underground tunnels...

Didn't Crispin Ashcroft run away with a suitcase into the tunnels?

Re: New blog on Christ's Hospital

That's an awful story. I think you should write to the board of governers, and mention the name of the house master, because if he's still there, you may help other little ones escape the same fate. I was in a girl's house and there was some nastiness but nothing like that. Please don't think all pe...

Re: O'Connors- Head of the Art School

Her name is Mrs Smith O'Connor?
The girl who was house captain after me became head of art school for a while then her husband took over. They've left too now, it's like an ever unfurling tapestry of our interwoven histories, rather scary: the more that gets added, the older it makes us!

Re: Are we alone?

Are you serious? kids have to pay to learn an instrument now? What has happened? Even if the foundation is suffering because OLd Blues dont donate as they used to, they ought to at least have written to us about changing something as fundamental as that? What about all the money the school received ...

Re: Housey Slang.....

It means: shiny forehead and is accompanied by a huge smacking sound of the lips. The boys said it all the time, maybe only in our day.

Re: Punishment Record - How Bad Were You?

I wasn't insulting anyone! :tonqe: I don't have a TV we gave it up a year and half ago and haven't seen one TV advert since. A great way to learn history, now we are free from school's tortuous, blinkered sole study of Henry the VIII (which they are still teaching as the main subject for 13 year old...

Sorry (or luckily for me!) I can't remember you at all, only your name is vaguely familiar!
Do you remember Helen Beeckmans? I still see her from time to time she works at the Tate.

Re: BaB leavers 1988

Wow a pig!
She must be a good one. Kate taught all the BaB squits (my year) a dance to a song "Jump, for my love" whatever it was. She was always gentle and kind I remember her: sweet and fair, the only senior to talk to us like small human beings missing their mums for the first time.

Re: Punishment Record - How Bad Were You?

Actually I've been watching a BBC series about the Medieval mind (with Jimmy Hendrix played out on lutes and lyres for the soundtrack) and as it turns out they were more bawdy than this post, more creative in their links between two points of reason, and far more far-out than us. Open your mind, rea...
