Re: knitted Housey frog
The Grecians Club still exists but is now open to all Sixth Form. I suspect when the new building appears it will be renamed to make it a more inclusive space. Not sure but I do know the pupils are involved in the planning process, so hopefully their ideas will be incorporated into the architects pl...

Re: knitted Housey frog
Most of the tuck is now bought in House (most Houses sell it for a small profit and I know one House that bought a new TV with the profits) or in Sainsbury's - the pupils go into town for more often these days. The Old Shop was popular but gone for good I suspect. There is a place for a School Shop ...

Re: Last night antics
Very quiet night now - thank God! I remember a bonfire in the Quad in my early years. Those days are long gone and I don't think you will find many staff who mourn!

Re: Congratulations To Joe Launchbury
Tipped to be an England Captain and one of only 4 players considered world class in the current squad - by a pundit in the Times whose name escapes me. Has CH ever had an England Captain in any mainstream sport - by that I mean Cricket, Football, Rugby, Hockey or Netball. We are National Champions i...

Re: Murder Mystery at CH - now raising funds for Cool Earth
It is a good book, set in CH and as such has an appeal to anyone who has been here as a pupil or member of staff. I would recommend it.

Yes - the very same. I suspect he will feature prominantly in the next edition of the Old Blue.

I doubt anyone will mind - as long as the number is correct.

Re: New girl- advice?
Hi, I'm a girl currently in year 9 in a state school in south Manchester. I'm hoping to attend Christ's Hospital at 16+ and will be (hopefully) applying to Oxbridge. Could any current parents/pupils give me an inside view? Specifically: What type of room is offered to a Dep? I know it's study bedro...

Re: What Doesn't Happen At CH These Days?
They do still use Latin phrases. Most of the old Housey slang has died out now but some still remains.

Re: SPECIAL NEEDS AT CH
It would depend on a number of factors, including whether you are a potential Day pupil or boarder. I recommend in the first instance, contact the Learning Support Team at the school who would be far better placed to discuss your potential application than anyone else. They can be contacted at the s...

Re: Letter writing
Not specifically (as far as I know). I think most learn by virtue of the fact that they use computers. I can touch type to an extent, simply through practice. The earlier they use laptops etc - the quicker they will become.

Re: Lunch parade times
Can anyone tell me when the first band parade took place and what possessed the school to introduce it? I am thinking about doing a feature in the Blue about CH traditions and their origins. If anyone out there would like to help in its construction, do let me know.
Thanks
