Re: how to appeal an Unduly Lenient Crown Court Sentence

As far as the plea bargain scenario is concerned, I'll wait until ALL the cases are completed before commenting further. Re: how to appeal an Unduly Lenient Crown Court Sentence

In view of the lenient sentence AND the fact of the previous conviction, thie may have been already passed back to the AG.

Of course, as this is the first conviction possibly of several, a plea bargain may well have been agreed.

Re: Date of sentencing of Webb and Burr

Even after pleading guilty, a four year sentence seems exceptionally light to me, given his position as an 'educator' in a boarding school at the time of the offences.

I'll await the other case results with extreme interest.

certain restrictions on publishing such information less than 100 years after death You can publish what you like about someone who's dead. And truth is a defence against libel anyway. So if you wanted to add to the potted biography something like 'lazy and incompetent' or 'notorious paedophile' or...

Re: CH in Art

Checking out the website for the "Impressionists in London" exhibition which has just opened at Tate Britain, I note that it includes a painting by James Tissot called "London Visitors" which depicts some important looking members of the bourgeoisie plus a couple of Housey boys. Do CH pupils crop u...

Re: Strange old man dressed in WW1 army gear / dog named lobster

I remember those toilets vividly. Always smelt of the intended deposits and pine fir in the summer. Yes - Thay have been demolished, but I can't for the life of me remember what is now in 1heir place. Very remiss of me because I walked through there not so very long ago. At having reached 70, I'll u...

Re: History of the Band

Looking at some Beating the Retreat footage on You Tube I noted the band playing the march that was the Monty Python theme tune. Did this ever get played at lunchtime and if so how many people got punished for going into a John Cleese silly walk? " The Liberty Bell " which was written by John Phili...

Re: Boys’ favourite books (& their pages) in the CH Library

I watched the repeat of 'The Graham Norton Show' last night, two of his guests, both of Afro origin were quite happy talking to each other, regularly using the 'N' word. Weird, or what ?? Was that the same episode with Kate Winslet, one of the topics being The Mountain Between Us ? (which my wife an...
