Re: Hertford Uniforms

Angela I agree completely - I've seen a couple of elegantly dressed men recently and felt that we could do with more of this. By the way - I have a CH hat in my possession and don't know what it is. Neither do I know how I acquired it and only knew when my mother cleared out the attic a couple of ye...

Re: Facebook.

Whether it's facebook, forum, e-mail, phones, mobiles or letter-writing, it's basically all about communication and depends entirely on how you choose to use it. I can't really understand how anyone could become addicted to any of these things but neither can I understand feelings of strong antipath...

Re: Facebook.

I like facebook - it's a quick and easy way of keeping in touch with friends and relations all over the world and an excellent way of passing on information to people here, thus saving me many phonecalls! I've never liked phones very much. I like the chattiness of facebook communication. I do write ...

Re: Hertford Memories - The Book

I remember the bicycles! Haven't the faintest idea now where they came from or why they disappeared, but Hilary and I were allowed to cycle to Old Wellyn to a harpsichord recital. Miss Taverner and Miss Cordery were there and transported us and bicycles in their cars back to Hertford - I think we we...

Re: Ascension Day Picnic!

I don't remember the outings particularly - Kim, I think we had an outing once to Waddesdon Manor, the Rothschild place but I don't know whether that was Ascension Day. The only kind of packed lunch I ever remember (and that is engraved on my memory) is the cheese and hairy mango sandwich one.

Re: YELLOWS AND PINKS

I arrived 1970 and don't remember anything but tunics and cherry reds on Sundays and those black shoes with the incongruous fringe on the front. In winter the scratchy, hairy blue coats.
