Re: Gravel Crunching

Yep, I can endorse that Betty Jukes taught 3rd (1st) year general science before we went on to the eccentric delights of Chemi T in our second year.

Re: Teddy Edwards

I used to reply to my children when asked for example, can you pour me a cup of tea, yes. Sometimes they would then say, Please can you pour me a cup of tea ? I would then say Yes, I am physically able to pour you a cup of tea, would you like me to do so ?. Was I being pedantic or merely giving the...

Gulp....I've completely misunderstood then. I'm contributing to the Hertford collective scheme, so what exactly am I contributing to? I thought I was helping to pay for a place at CH

Re: Teddy Edwards

But English has changed continuously for at least 800 years. Much of what we consider ‘proper’ would have been decried as ruining the language 100 or 200 years ago. It is necessary to find the right balance between the inevitable changes and complete anarchy. It that light, I doubt if we are doing ...

Re: What Were You Useless At?

Sport. All sport. Well, except swimming, for which I actually swam for my house a couple of times - not exacly a distinction as I think there were about six or eight of us in the relay team out of a house of around 36, at least a quarter of whom would simply have been too young and not physically st...

I heard from Ajarn Phillip on Facebook last month. He seemed fine and was enthusing about cheesecake.

Re: Death of Michael Butler

Oh my goodness! I've just put two and two together..... husband of a Hertford OB contemporary of mine died suddenly recently and from names/locations it must be him. I had no idea he was an OB too, and a governor.

Re: Happy Birthday, Fjgrogan

Sorry I missed your birthday Frances but glad you had a good day. The FB group is so busy I keep forgetting to look here too! I am hoping to arrange a Hertford reunion in September but it will be a strictly unofficial event because some of the people in the FB group would run a mile if they thought ...
