Re: Why does Eton make headlines....?

I wonder how the majority of Eton boys will treat their “charity-kids”?? I recall how other independent schools used to call us The Paupers, but how the local state schools used to call as the posh toffs. One of the great things about CH was that none of us knew (at least in the first year or so) wh...

Why does Eton make headlines....?

Why does Eton make headlines for this:-
Eton College to offer 12 free sixth form places https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-48902808
when CH has been doing WAY more than this for years?

Re: Roger Martin - trial

Incidentally, I have received fairly significant threats in the last couple of years requesting (or requiring!) me to remove posts. I have never done so as the result of threats, and will only do so where there is a good legal or other very strong reason to do so. One of the problems of simply delet...

Re: Roger Martin - trial

Re this:- I found this site via a search for information about the accusations against the unfortunate Roger Martin. I have ..... Thanks for your long and informative post. I strongly believe that one of CH’s fundamental problems for many many years is their silence. When the forum started, I met ex...

Re: The Fionna Bruce Show.

Agree she’s terrible. She seems to interject with her own views, rather than moderate the programme.
Bumblebee used to interject with a factual correction, very effectively, but it was sparing and added value.

Hopefully someone else will take the reins at some point....

Re: Roger Martin - trial

The whole thing with skinny-dipping itself isn’t an issue in my opinion, UNLESS it’s something forced or imposed by someone for their own gratification. Naturism and naturist swimming is acknowledged as good for wellbeing, pool hygiene etc - but isn’t something to be forced on boys for a teacher’s g...

Re: Roger Martin - trial

I joined aged 10 in 1985....so there are often some who are very young for their year. I skipped a year of primary school..... so maybe the victim did the same?

I’ve just unlocked this topic. 4 years is good news....although sad we have to add yet another name to the CH list of shame.

Call for DONATIONS for the CH Forum running costs...

Hi there, I've not specifically asked for donations for the running of the Forum for a number of years. The costs aren't huge, but the ongoing hosting, SSL certificate etc. for the forum do cost, and I donate my time (as do the other moderators) for nothing, diverting me from other paid work. As alw...
