Re: 2013 Admissions Thread

considering she is by far ''more smart'' than him. maybe it was a very academic cohort this year? Or even the fact that there were more clever girls than boys in your Ds's year (not suggesting this is the case in the slightest, but it could answer some of your daughters questions!!) My second son i...

Re: 2013 Admissions Thread

I've noticed that there is no longer any mention of siblings on the school website, I'm sure that previously something along the lines of, we look sympathetically on siblings of current pupils as long as they pass the academic tests and are suitable for boarding. (paraphrased badly!) It does seem st...

Re: 2013 Admissions Thread

Sorry that your daughter didn't get in Juicymum, and your ds's studiorex. I have a son who'll be sitting the exams next year. He's also quite happy to go to the local school with his mates though!

Ah but to give you an idea of boys houses and effort grades, ds was the only one last time, in his year, to get over 4.2! (I'm not sure about this time). And I think he's only received the pizza once before that!

Re: 3 weekly grades

My son only found his out yesterday.

He's thrilled to have finally got a 4 in drama this year

In his house, those who get over a 4.2 average get a pizza (which they then seem to share :D )

Re: 50 years ago, in the snow.

I spoke to my son last night, who told me that they were having a snow active this afternoon instead of football :) Unfortunately it looks unlikely that the planned visit to take him to lunch tomorrow will have to be cancelled, but he seemed remarkably unbothered by this and sounds like he's having ...

Re: laptops

Son has also got open office on his laptop. Being part of a geeky family with equally geeky friends we have 5 computers in the house, in various states of repair. None of which we have actually paid for, as people are always upgrading them and giving us the old ones (I wish they didn't!) However all...

Re: laptops

Thanks to very generous Grandparents, son now has a laptop
