Re: FIRST LEAVE WEEKEND
Just the usual endless wait to see the tutors Josh! It's also very awkward queueing up and trying not to overhear what's being said to the parents already with the tutor and likewise when it's your own turn, you are aware of people breathing down your neck  I don't think Big School is really s...

Re: FIRST LEAVE WEEKEND
Well, it's 8.45pm on Sunday evening now. Have just got back from a dire Grecians' parents' evening ... there just has to be a better way of organising those things  I'm a bit worried by this comment, Mom2to! - what was so dire about it? should we be thinking of removing our offspring at 6th f...

Re: FIRST LEAVE WEEKEND
I'm very much in two minds about Leave Weekends. I count the days and absolutely long to see the children and I know they love coming home but even after 6 years it's so blooming hard to say goodbye again on the Sunday evening and it feels like Groundhog Day every time. I think we are lucky in that ...

Re: Happy St Matthew's Day!
There was a fab photo and write-up on the CH band and the St Matthew's Day parade in yesterday's Evening Argus - cannot for the life of me find a link but will see if I can scan it on

Re: Are we alone?
I'm with you Ailurophile and Lonelymom on the subject of the term "squit". Can't for the life of me see what's wrong with it. I remember my daughter being referred to as a Squit-ma when she reached the 3rd form and had a squit of her own to look after and very proud she was of the title :)

Re: buttons
Do you know Frances, I have no idea about the sash though the button is on the right shoulder so it could well be for that purpose; I will ask at leave weekend. I'm sure your husband was a fine drum major :D As for the uniform - it's all free until the little darlings lose it and then the bands do n...

Re: PAT Testing
May I make a suggestion here - whatever you do, make sure everything for testing is named in some way especially the phone chargers as my daughter's new charger went off never to be seen again!

Re: Best wishes to all the new second form
Just returning very quickly to St Matthew's Day, this year we got a letter saying that as parents of a Grecian we could put our name in a draw to get a seat at the Service and they have all now been allocated so I doubt there will be spare places - well worth going to watch the marching though. Ever...
