Ah,
I was worried it was an extra percentage. Thanks.

Re: Contributions
When someone says they have an 18% increase on what they paid last year, is that up from say 18% to 36% of the fees, OR is it you were paying £5000 (which is about 18% of the fees) before and now you are paying 18% of the £5000 more, which is a lower increase than the first scenario? (£900 up as opp...

Re: 3rd form German trip
I have a very old friend who lives in Cologne. It does sound like a fun trip but maybe not that educational. I have put my DS down for the trip to France that was offered to the 2nd form (a one day one again to Calais) even though he lives in France, because, as a friend pointed out, it will make gr...

Re: Not finding it difficult
Quite honestly I am in agreement with the OP as I am REALLY looking forward to be a bit of peace and quiet as my son is as full on as her daughter. Yippee! I too think that the holidays will become really special times when we can do meaningful things together and have fun. I hope. Having been home ...

Re: New Entrants'Day
We too had a great time on NED. Our DS was off with his mentor and we hardly saw him! Got him measured for his shirt etc. The house (Peele A) seems great as do the house staff. We read one worked in conservation before coming to CH so DS was overjoyed about that. Everyone was very friendly and helpf...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread
Mine is in Peele A - right at the end of the Avenue! That should get him fit and thin. Do you think they put the chubbiest kids in the houses furthest from dining hall and lessons? I must take a look at the rest on NED to see if my theory is right. Rather scarily a friend of mine has just told me th...

Re: New Entrants'Day
That sounds like fun.
When I come over for NED I shall go to my son's house and watch them there! I have four grown up children too you see.
Thanks for the explanation.

Re: New Entrants'Day
Sadly, i am none the wiser as I only have dialup, due to living in a zone blanche in France where there is no broadband. So I still don't know what it is. I need a verbal explanation please.

Re: New Entrants'Day
Couldn't get much further from the dining hall! It will do him good as he is a bit chubby. I expect to see a new slimmed down son!

Re: New Entrants'Day
It came today, at last. My son is in Peele A.
Anyone else out in Peele A out there?
Anyone tell me what it is like?

Re: New Entrants'Day
Yes, nothing arrived today, so still waiting. However the parcel I was waiting for did, although it appeared in the post box although it should have been signed for. It is absolutely no use sending anything recorded delivery to France from the UK as the french totally ignore it. And guess what, my P...

Re: New Entrants'Day
Oh, two days to get to Kent, that probably means a whole week to get to France as the post man is probably riding a bike and carrying a string of onions. He'll certainly be stopping for coffee and goodness knows what else along the way at friendly houses.

Re: New Entrants'Day
Oh, hopefully mine will arrive tomorrow then. Although I have no faith in the french postal system. I am waiting for a tracked parcel that was posted on the 4th in the UK, and last Thursday it was locatable in Roissy, apparently being sorted to be sent on, and it was STILL there today when I looked ...
