When I started at CH in Sept 1936. the rail junction at the school station serviced both Guildford and Brighton as well as the Portsmouth line. The tube went all way out to the station (if you go down the steps you can see where they blocked off the tunnel). It runs under most of the original buildings (someone once released a stink bomb in chapel from under the floor). What I want to know is if it went out to Sharpenhurst as legend sugget...

THE VERIO PICTURE IN THE DINING HALL FROM BRIAN HAYNES 1936-1943 I SAW A LOT OF THIS PIC AS BEING IN PEELE A OUR TABLE WAS IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF THE ROSTRUM OUR HOUSEMASTER MR J N B SERGENT WAS IN CHARGE OF THE HALL I FLICKED SOME FLAB, MISSED MY TARGET AND ENDED UP CLEANING PART OF THE VERIO PIC....
