Now I know all of you expect me to come out with really dumb questions, but I'm going to ask anyway. CH must be one of the wealthiest schools in the country but does anyone know if they take the Tesco 'computer's for schools' vouchers? I ask in all seriousness, and you can take the Mick if you like...

Re: RUGBY

Odd you mention Goodwood - my uncle ran the motor racing circuit in the 60's and I met Brabham and Surtees among other boyhood heroes. Since thios is the only communication method open to me, FWIW there is a PM to you answering that (politely, surprisingly) together with one to Spoonbill dated 14th...

how about Nostalgia Breaks for OBs  mind you, each generation would demand worse facilities and food..... And some might even want a good thrashing! Cynthia Payne to inherit Newsome's old canes? (I'm sure Shoz will tell us how much they all weighed..... ). Oh Dear ! Richard's getting ...

I never would, the lad just shoved his phone in my face and said 'have a look at this', by the time I could look away it was too late. Well if you ever see him again tell him to be careful - someone got sent to jail for 2 months for showing a beheading video that he had on his phone! See: http://ne...

We had a guy from the local school on a work placement recently and he had a public execution on his phone. I was almost physically sick when I saw it. Is this what 'youth' call entertainment these days? These can be found on various sites on the web, shoz, but even as an advocate of capital punish...

Re: Cherry Reds and Tweeds!!

Oh happy days! Shoes were passed on from one to the next - and God help you (literally) if they were no clean and sparkly - cleaning the shoe brushes was a foul punnishment ! until we were in the 5th form we had to wear socks - when finally a "senior" and allowed to wear "tan or Amer...

IT'S OFFICIAL !!! My spies tell me that notices are appearing within the confines of the school to inform people of the demise of QE ! On another topical subject - Keep yer eyes on Sits. Vacant in the Horsham area for a Plum job at CH, (NOT for you, Matt). I understand that time-off is in the contr...

Ringtones ?

Don't get me started on that one !

Eldest Grand-Daughter, (14), said to me. "Here Grand-Dad ! Listen to my new ring-tone !"

Suffice it to say, its a verbal alarm, and obscene hardly starts to describe it ! Where do these teenagers get em from ?

A guy is sitting at the bar alone, apart from his large dog laying beside his bar stool. A teenage office-boy walks in, orders a drink and sits on another stool beside the guy with the dog. They sit in silence for a while, when suddenly, the large dog shoves his head between its hind legs, and start...

And you think you had it bad! But really this was pretty lenient, the birch weighed in at 3.5 ounces at CH whereas it weighed a massive 12 at Eaton and most of the punishments were given by senior boys. Can you imagine the sadistic cruelty that must have gone on? Do you mean 'Eton'? Anyway, as ever...

I had the migraine. I had thrown up on the way to town, outside McDonalds, then again on the way home. the kids thought it was great. Don't you carry the 'magic-tablet' ? I used to suffer migraine attacks. Started at school during 'O' Levels. My G.P. prescribed a pill I carried at all times. As lon...

Seems pretty lenient compared with flogging in prisons, which was abolished only within my life-time. There were two types. Birching, usually reserved for young offenders, and the 'cat' generally applied by the biggest prison officer for adult prisoners for offences, usually assault against prison s...
