Re: 40 Years on 1971/72

I received an invitation to this event this morning. It is depressing how many of my contemporaries are deceased. I knew of some via Howard H and The Blue since re-establishing contact with the School but there are many I did not. I inadvertently typed "tear"s rather than "years"...

Re: What Were You Useless At?

Bill, it was West Side Story, or a bit of it anyway. I can't remember what the extravaganza was celebrating, maybe it was the new theatre. You mention Stratton, Lane.. oh what memories.

Re: What Were You Useless At?

A teacher once wrote at the bottom of one of my History essays:´Anything related to fact seems totally coincidental`.

Re: Houseyblog

One year on, and Houseyblog is back in action again at the same address: http://trongon.blogspot.com For the past five weeks I've managed to update it every day, and I'll try to keep going at the same rate, at least for a while. As before, I'd appreciate it if people could keep my real name out of ...

Re: What Were You Useless At?

I am very grateful to CH for the chance to play so many sports. I loved it and still play 3 or 4 some 35 years later. I never got to 1st XV or XI standard as I was a bit of a Jack of all trades but managed to play to a decent standard. As for being useless, like Spoonbill I could just never understa...

It's probably a number that stays with you all your life. I use mine (House initials and number) for my Internet, banking, forum etc passwords.

Saw a nice sign outside a pub in the Midlands once. Filthy ales and disgusting food.

Re: Does CH Take In a Fixed Quota of Ginger Kids Each Year?

Not sure where the whole anti-ginger thing began. Did it start with the 'nobody wants a ginger baby' sketch Harry Enfield did? Whatever, it's just not on, especially when the ginger brigade were presumably here long before the Saxons arrived. Personally, I too can only remember one ginger member of...

Re: Graham Norton Show

Old Blues seem to be making regular appearances on the Graham Norton Show. James D'Arcy was on last week and Taio Cruz was on last night. Taio Cruz is obviously hugely successful; I thought he came across really well and seemed like a genuinely nice guy. James D'Arcy likewise. Both good adverts for...

Re: DINING HALL LUNCHES

In my day, the 70s, dais food was MUCH better than the ordinary fare. I know as I was lucky enough to be a button Grecian in my last year and so had the pleasure of eating with Newsome. Seem to remember that I kept over to the corners, as far away from him as possible! I remember one April Fool's da...
