Re: Did anyone know?

Are all victims being asked if they would like to meet/address the governing council?

Re: Letter to the Head Master

Bbb, you certainly need a competent lawyer to handle your claim against CH - and the perpetrator if they have assets. Meet Reid if you think it will be helpful to you, but don’t agree anything with him or anyone else from the school without a good lawyer present. I am confident that his sympathy and...

Re: Letter to the Head Master

Your consistent bias against the current CH administration borders on the snide, but pleases some. Reid has become the focus of a baying pack on here. They could consider the complexity of his job and that he has more important work than futilely attempting to satisfy a very small number disaffected...

Re: Tom Lawson: the interview

Hey Rocky! - I was just looking for something and came across this thread from earlier this year. I'm surprised you missed this ... the Deputy Head of CH until 2 yrs ago was a Bullingdon member; still as the son of a Chancellor you revere you probably decided not to mention it! https://www.byline.co...

Re: Letter to the Head Master Post by richardb » Sat Aug 11, 2018 9:37 am As far as I am aware the Husband/Dobbie victims still have not received so much as a letter from the school but I would be delighted to be corrected about that. Sorry Richard but I have to call barrister BS on that one. Just ...

If she hadn't been put right then Karim may have got lucky too.
Do you think she got it right this time or are you going to refer to the AG?

Re: Karim's sentence hearing

Judge Henson's sentence was 48 months ... after calling the court back to admit her first attempt at 42 months was a mistake. The AG may appeal Karim's so surely the correct comparison must be made between Henson's sentencing. Peter Burr was jailed at Hove crown court on Friday after admitting nine ...

Re: Karim's sentence hearing

Burr admitted nine counts of indecently assaulting boys aged between 11 and 14 and got 48 months.
If that is after a 25% reduction then the comparable sentence would be 64 months vs. Karim's 120 months.
It seems inconsistent and that Burr got off very lightly.

I doubt it. The joining fee at Queens is about the same as a journalist's annual salary.

Re: Karim's sentence hearing

Why on earth are Queens Club still defending him?
Was Queens defending him or just 4 members at a very large club, who had befriended a man that behaved differently from his younger self many years before at CH?

Re: Cairncross. I checked the Somerset journal (www.somersetlive.co.uk) that had asked her for a comment when Karim was convicted but they seem to be preoccupied with their local Downside news.

Re: It's time for Sillett, Cairncross and Poulton to comment.

Not ironic.
It was merely coincidental that Karim's sentence hearing fell on the day that iicsa had scheduled to publish their report on Downside and Ampleforth.
There will be a report on Lancing and Ball. CH may be included in that report or may get one of its own.
