Re: Parental Contribution

No, I don't think everyone's fees are going up by the same percentage, obviously my income and outgoings have caused my increase this year. I didn't know paying over 12 months was an option, I thought it was 10 months or termly? I hope my increase hasn't worried everyone, I'm sure you'll all be okay.

Re: Parental Contribution

No, hadn't gone up really, definitely not by 16%! No explanation, just the calculation thing. I guess the problem is that at the same time as my electric and insurance etc are going up, and food costs, so are CH's.

Re: Parental Contribution

Maybe not a lot for some people, but it represents a 16% rise, which is a lot for me. Everything else has gone up too, my house insurance, car insurance, petrol, electric, food, Council Tax etc. I've already got one kidney, half a liver, an eyeball and some hair up for sale, I'm just wondering if I ...

Re: Parental Contribution

Have all the other current and future parents on the forum got their assessment through now? I still haven't had mine. I'm just wondering whether it may have got lost somewhere in the postal system, and whether I should chase it up? :?

Re: Parental Contribution

The fee for sitting the test always used to be means-assessed too, albeit very basically. Is this no longer the case then? Is it a straight £50 fee, regardless of income?

Re: Parental Contribution

I am viewing the postman with horror in my heart every day.Such is my dread of next years fees arriving that I have put a hex on him. He stands at the end of the path and gibbers and then goes away. I'm dreading reading those numbers too, although I just want to get it over and done with and see ho...

Re: Parental Contribution

But how would remortgaging work exactly? I mean say, for example, someone has a house worth £250,000 with an outstanding mortgage of £70,000, that would mean they have equity of £180,000 because the house has doubled in value since they bought it or something (lucky sods!) So, a school might want...

Re: The Official Parents' Forum

While checking something on the CH website this morning, I took a quick look at the Parents' Forum. This has now been available to parents for almost exactly a year, and although in format it is almost identical to the Unofficial Forum, it doesn't generate anything like the same level of activity f...

Re: Parental Contribution

I don't understand what it is exactly we're supposed to be discussing. How would the number of boys, and therefore girls be able to increase? Where would they all sleep? Or am I getting confused (not for the first time)

Re: Parental Contribution

If you get a good price for your kidney can you let me know, cos I have one I can sell too! I also have one eyeball I could sell, some hair and half a liver - all with only one previous owner (was going to say 'careful' but realised I could probably get sued for mis-advertising) :)

Re: New Entrants' Day

That's because 8 and then ) comes out as 8) If you want to do an 8 and then close brackets you'll have to leave a space after the 8 - it looks strange but it's the only way
