Re: Hammer blows to CH finances
Or, as is the reality of repealing the Default Retirment Age, you never fully retire but probably go part time until you are unable to continue

Re: Resignation of Baker and emergency appointment of Hansford
Interesting phrase Tim, it is the first time I have ever heard anyone say Baker was ‘dismissed’. Obviously as pupils we were told he had left and I don’t remember any other info, or at least none that my Mum shared with me. Any more you can share as to why?

Re: REMOVAL OF CHOBA MEMBERSHIP
Tanya was a non-foundationer at the school for 4years, at the time of the merger, and therefore is entitled to be a member of CHOBA, whether her sentence changed that I have no idea
EDIT in fact IIRC she got her buttons as House Captain of BaB (but could have been BaA)

Re: Address to the Governing Council help please
Interesting, James Arnell, James Maclean and Nick Atkinson (if it is the right one) are all near contemporaries of me, so were in the school during the tenure of several of the 5 convicts

Re: Did anyone know?
Robert, not sure if this is of any help, but I thought I would add some feedback When you were at the school did you know what sexual abuse was happening or was it just 'another normal thing''? I was there during the eighties, 18 months 2nd/3rd form with Webb as my Housemaster. I along with others w...

Point 4, you reference Webb leaving in 74, not 84

Re: Vikki Askew
A little aside (no names as I don't have their permission) but a female contemporary of mine whose daughter has just finished at CH, somewhat humbled Ed at a parents meeting a couple of years ago, by stating the last time they met was she used to babysit him!

Re: Bishop Peter Ball and Christ's Hospital
I was confirmed by him in Lent Term 83 I think (might have been 84), IIRC he did confirmations for several years as our local bishop. I was prepared for confirmation by Mike Porteous, who has also been convicted for activity in the 70’s (before CH) which I find amazing - All of the other recent conv...

Re: Who Knew What?
That's a bit of a test, but I would say most years it was JDS, Torkington, Goodall (at least for a couple of years), 3 or 4 Old Blues who had been in Scouts and would have been Undergraduate Age, and I think Dobbie went on at least one (he also went on the Lake District Trip with the Scouts in Decem...
