Re: Marching into lunch
Thank you Howard. I do remember one year when performing the London march(St Matthew's day??) we passed a coach of Japanese tourists, and they were all crammed up to the nearside windows taking photos.I never believed that stereotype until I saw it.I wonder if anyone else has any CH marching related ...

Re: Marching into lunch
Marching into lunch is definitely something that stays with you after leaving CH,and not in a bad way.Because of marching into lunch I still walk swinging my arms,I've even been told that I march along when on my morning walks! And the CH band is exceptional,I used to have a tape I used to listen to ...

Re: LE
I started at CH in 1988 and there wasn't a Lower Fourth then,it went 2nd Form(lovingly called Squits),3rd Form,Little Erasmus(LE),Upper Fourth(UF),Great Erasmus(GE),Deputy Grecians(Deps) and finally Grecians.

Re: LE
If I remember rightly then Neill is right. The LE and GE are supposedly named after Erasmus the philosopher. As for why they are named so I do not know. Now the story behind the naming of those particular years would be of interest.

Re: Your nickname
I had totally forgotten about Boomer Carrington, how I don't know.
My nickname was given to me by J.D Shippam and it 'Grunt',I believe I inherited from the last person in school with my name

I remember that day back in 1990 as I was in Geography with a clear view of that particular stretch. It's a day I will never forget even though I never knew him.A very sombre day indeed

Re: Master Keys
I remember "acquiring" a master key,it was great fun roaming the school and nosing about. And then we discovered the English department photo-copier.And that was put to good use, well until it jammed with a copy of one of my co-conspirators stuck inside unknown to us.Oh how easily I was caug...

Re: Corporal Punishment......
I certainly remember getting the plimsol from the infamous J.D Shippam back in my Lamb B days(1988 to '91),and it didn't do me any harm.I think being made to take a cold shower was worse, but hey it toughened me up.
