Lincolnshire Donation Governor

I saw this on the CH Parents' Forum - thought it perhaps deserved a wider audience ... "A Donation Governor is hoping to present a child from the Lincolnshire area – does anyone have any contacts or know of families who might be interested in applying to CH from this area? If so please can they...

Re: 3rd form German trip

Rest assured - if all your valiant efforts at sorting passports fail - your children won't be the only 3rd formers at school - my DD has flatly refused to go! Don't ask me why! She's adamant she doesn't want to go "even if I am the ONLY one left at school." With a couple of months off payi...

You're welcome! I had to work so missed it - and by what my DD has told me - it was a great event. Gutted! Next year ...

Re: sports day

The information I've got says ... "All parents and guardians are invited to attend Sports Day on 1st June 2012 from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm. Chartwells will be selling baguettes, etc, during the track events but you are more than welcome to bring your own picnics. "Please note that the June Ha...

Re: It's still tough

He is already using CH terminology despite not starting until September....I smiled yesterday during the school run home when he described a figure from his history lesson as wearing a "leather Housey". My DD did exactly the same after her New Entrants' Day ... she'd open a kitchen cupboa...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread

My DD received details of who she will be Nursemaid to in September! She is SO excited! She's spent three days composing a letter to send her. The girl in question is very sporty ... not my DD's thing at all! Apparently there's been a real buzz around this house this week in anticipation of NED and ...

Re: New Entrants'Day

I found the change in my dd quite staggering! Despite her bedroom at home regularly looking like it's been burgled - she takes great pride in her area in her dorm! She now sorts her own washing when she gets home for a leave weekend and volunteers to shower! The Barnes matrons have worked wonders!

Re: Poorly children

i had been warned that this term is a tricky one for morale for most children (youngsters!) at CH - but my dd started the term amazingly well (having had a heavy bout of homesickness for the second half of last term). She's now hit a low point - she's struggling to fit in with the rest of her year g...

Re: Day Pupils

I've been following this thread with great interest - as a new parent I realise my experience is limited. However, I grew up just round the corner from CH and was roped in to play various female roles in plays - some house plays, some more bigger DNP productions so I feel I am reasonably familiar wi...

2012 Admissions Thread

Good luck to everyone - I can't quite believe it was a year ago we were at this leg of the journey! I asked my DD what she would recommend candidates take with them - and her response was "cosy clothes"' for day and night! I think she was a bit surprised how drafty the place can be! Thinki...

How much "stuff"?!

Ahhh! Bag 1 - one slipper, random clothes, 2 chocolate coins, a chap stick (no lid), a sweatshirt, house handbook, a lump of blutack stuck in the corner, 3 envelopes (used!), dried up pack of face wipes ... 4 bags to go and I've not even braved the suitcase yet!

How much "stuff"?!

I don't remember sending my dd to school in September with so much stuff?! Either her debris has bred in captivity or she's packed half her room mates' belongings too!
