Re: Early Lent Half Term
Re. leaving stuff at the school - what happened to the trunk rooms in the tube? Each house used to have one (and some of them even used to be relatively dry!). Trunks (obviously) and other stuff could be left there during the shorter holidays.

Re: Early Lent Half Term
Has anyone considered the views of the pupils in all this? As a teenager at CH, I was quite happy to spend the weekends indulging in sport, music, and generally hanging around with my friends. Particularly as I got older, I felt absolutely no need to run home to my mother at every available opportun...

Re: CHA versus CHOBA
This was posted in 4 different places and I amalgamated them into the "CHA - Discussion" topic yesterday. Not being pedantic (honest!), but shouldn't there be a "CHOBA - Discussion" section now? I know the change of name has been discussed, but Ali's concerns are certainly worth...

Re: Radio 4 mention of CH
He was at CH in the '70s at the same time as me. Can't quite remember whether he was on my year, or just below. He probably did lots of theatrical stuff, but he was certainly in DNP's re-working of Joe Orton's "The Erpingham Camp".

Re: Beating Retreat 1976
Robin will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the trombone section comprised Tim Petter, Toby Kibble, Richard Alston, Robin and myself. Must have been one of the tallest line-ups, I think, as we were all 6' + .

Re: Failing ofsted!
I always find it bizarre that having a public bridleway around most of the Mile is deemed fine... It's probably a quite troublesome process to have this removed. However, a number of nearby public footpaths have certainly vanished over the years, including ones through Shelley's Wood (now replaced ...

Re: CH graces in the Church Times
I remember reading grace for the first time after I got my buttons. It seemed a bit nerve-racking at first, but it didn't take long to get used to it. Best not to pause for breath between 'refresh' and 'our souls', though......

Beating Retreat 1976
Just found this bit of film on YouTube - Huntertitus and I are both in here somewhere, playing trombone alongside the late Tim Petter:

It was REALLY hot then, although thankfully we had a 6.00 pm start, rather than today's 3.00 pm.
