New wave, schmoo wave... I still like the bands that came out of the far side of that particular wave but I guess they represent retro too to you with it young blades; police, stranglers, clash, echo & the bunnymen [their new album 'Siberia' is excellent]. I got an 'Old Grey Whistle Test' DVD fo...

I know this was covered in separate threads some time ago, but I have to thank my CH peers for a very broad musical taste. I'm definitely 'retro' as my 13 year old son keeps reminding me [tho' he's keen on all the stuff I like too] but I'd forgotten how much I liked Rory Gallagher, Coliseum, King Cr...

I appear to have gone against the grain - sorry that was a bit limp. There, that should satisfy the 'wooden' and the 'leg' references!

I'm an amputee. My left arm was amputated "above the elbow" [actually just below the shoulder]. Because of the nerve damage I sustained I can't use a prosthetic arm but I think they're all grotesque anyway. I WOODn't dream of wearing one :O)

I was told at the time that 'kiff' was a term for cannabis [?] - we used the sugar bowl on the table as a kiff bowl. I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I have very strong memories of people demanding "krug, flab and muck"

You're right J.R. His voice is still incredibly powerful [even in conversation] but he appears significantly shorter than I remember, and I noticed he is using a walking stick. He always had a very distinctive laugh which ended in an extended "zzzzz" and I believe some nicknamed him "...

I bumped into...

I caught a train from Horsham yesterday [14th December] and found myself standing next to Mr Rae and Mr Lorimer who were deep in conversation. Mr 'Rocker' Rae was my House Master in Lamb B - I don't remember ever talking to Mr Lorimer - and I hadn't seen him in 30 years; in fact I had assumed that h...

Not howler monkeys, red indians / indian americans who DNP encouraged to wander round the audience [or even sit on the audience] calling "Codey, Codey" - refering to William Cody aka Buffalo Bill, played at the time by Julian Garner if memory serves.

During the party in Big School to celebrate the success of the play Indians [74?] someone gave me a "joint" that consisted of equal parts old holborn, snuff and crushed-up josticks - excellent!
