Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
How do you mean that you were not in competition for a place? Do you mean you just had to scrape a pass whereas those without a presentation would be ranked in order of high scores?
Any idea how many other presentees there were in your intake?

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
What does 'slightly advantageous' mean? If they have a presentation do they pass at a lower score or something? When I first heard about presentations it seemed that getting one was a dead cert to get a place, but, like Jade, I'm confuded by the system. How many presentations does anyone think have ...

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
If students stay on until 6th form, what used to be lower 6th when I was at school is now Year 12 and Upper sixth is Year 13.
In the state system that is.

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
I've found out that a quantitatie test is not too disimilar to verbal and non-verbal reasoning. It is problem solving based on being able to see patterns in strings of numbers, and or letters and words. Like, 1, 4, 7, .....what comes next? That's what I think it is having asked at school. People wer...

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
As a would be parent I confess that I don't know how each of the years are called at CH so I stick with what I am familiar with....Year 6 and Year 7 etc.

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
The letter with the timetable came today. There are English and Maths tests plus Non verbal reasoning, verbal reasoning and quantitative....5 written tests in total. Sport, music (if required) and interviews. Looks awful....am so glad it's not me!

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
Thank you for this detailed information.
Can you tell me what affect a Governor's Presentation has on this process as I am very confused about it.
Only 56 places....OMG

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
I don't know how many took the exam - I think there were 4 sessions - morning and afternoon at Fulham and at Horsham. I think about 300 get through to the residential although I can't remember where I got that figure from. Not sure about the final intake tho....most schools are 130-150.

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
Yikes! I preferred thinking they wouldn't be sent out until the first!!
Presumably all the results go out together? You talked about the Fulham assessment - we were at the afternoon session in Horsham.
Thanks!

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
My letter from CH says that they will be in a position to send out results from the first week in December so I reckon we shouldn't all be getting too worried for another week at least! It also says - in bold! - please do not ring for the results. The London Nautical School sounds alright - if mine ...

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
Where did you hear we'd find out from the 25th? I was counting down for the first week in December....would be great if earlier! When we went to the Open Day there was a maths teacher (possibly head of maths?) who was saying they try to structure the exams to not disadvantage those pupils who haven;...

Re: Hopefull year 7 parent
Hi, My son also took the exams on the 8th....he didn't say much about it so have no idea how it went...the waiting is terrible! I just wanted to say hello really and empathise as we are in the same position. As for the 'personal circumstances' I had assumed that that was all dealt with at the applic...
