An idea not included as a topic yet - how about a section where staff can tell Old Blues about equipment they need for their boarding house or department?
Old Blues can then help fund specific items that the school uses, feeling a direct link between the finance and the benefit.

Could also use it to sponsor individual pupils on school trips?

This, in a small way, could help fund the school - we can't all afford to be presenting governors.......

yes! exactly. we can pass on things that we have but no longer need. thus saving the environment and reducing mindless consumerism in one swoop.

err.. and it would be cheaper for everyone!
