I can honestly say I don't remember you ever being one of the 'power happy' ones so please don't take any offence, but there were ones who seemed to take great delight in making certain junior years lives pretty miserable at times, and I'm sorry but I'm not going to pretend they didn't.

I remember singing 'I will survive' on one year. Esther Maughan always seemed to be very involved in organising the singing, or is that my imagination?
No offence taken! And please don't apologise for the fact that some people were bitches. We all have those we remember with less than fondness and were frankly glad to see the back of them.

Yes, Esther was very much at the helm for all our musical exploits. She directed the house play in January 1990 when we did The Pied Piper. You must remember that. OMG! I found the photos from that recently, and swore that I would put my parents in a home for Bewildered Geriatrics if they dared show anyone ever. I see Esther quite regularly as she lives nearby, and Hannah occasionally.

I'm sure the Pied Piper was on my second or third form so about 1988, as Naomi Dulfer who was on my year took quite a prominent role (?). I did the programme, which was pretty rubbish if I remember, Mrs Endacott took the draft I did as the final version. then again that woman couldn't stand me so was probably on purpose!

you were the Pied Piper weren't you, or is my memory playing tricks? I'd forgotten about that production up to now!

I remember Hannah practising the drums (well, sticks on the dorm floor) for ages as a junior.

Naomi Dulfer was Toffee wotsit with a limp, and yes, I admit to prancing round on stage unsuitably dressed as the PP. Miss Sprosen objected to the green catsuit and asked that it be toned down, so we added 3 strategically placed silver stars that shone beautifully under the stage lights. She shouldn't have mentioned it really. I have a programme lurking somewhere, and a video recording, probably in the memorabilia I've packed for the old dears to take to their retirement home for Embarrassing Parents. I've not heard anything of the Endacotts for eons. Mrs E was fairly forthright in her opinions, wasn't she.

that's far more polite than I'd have managed!

Mr E taught me English for A level. A good teacher, but I was always slightly reticent (even after 2 years of them not being in Col A)! Mrs E was almost never heard from again after they want to Peele.

I doubt it was your imagination - I seem to recall her being very musical.

And it was Tara Stringer cj - don't ask me where I pulled that one from! And no rude comments JR.

She had a dalmatian, and broke her leg falling over it.

I thought she came from Barnes to Col A, but maybe it was the other way round.

Nah, of course I was kidding DBTS etc etc (if anyone remembers *that* part of the thread). We called GrE the musical house cos five of the six a level set were in East, and our part song kicked ass, and there were loads of us in scola, band, big band etc etc.

There is no one "musical" house.
"All I need to be happy is a little house with a small yard, a white-picket fence, some trees in the yard, and some of my enemies hanging on the trees."

Miss Lindsay was housemistress of BaB. I think she was attached to BaA when I was there.
