Great game - incredible speed of play. Shame about the result, but prefer them to lose now, and not in 3 years time!
Roll-on the next world cup!

Jason Robinson is a dream to watch - what fantastic footwork!

Well, seeing as this topic is "Rugby", in "General Chat", I feel I can vent:

I absolutely HATED rugby at CH.

Hated every stupid effing minute of it.

I resented the ugly attitude it engendered amongst many, I resented the time wasted, the fact that it put me off all sport and physical exercise for years (CH really managed to confuse sport with punishment - remember "drills"?). I hated the nasty smelly nylon socks they made you wear, the playing in the rain, the stinking mud, the cold (playing when the torn up muddy turf was actually frozen rock hard!), the dirty showers - I hated it all. I hated being forced to play despite the fact that I was very short-sighted, and therefore could hardly see what was going on (until I got contact lenses).

It still amazes me all these years on that so much energy was expended on this sport at CH. Maybe it's the same now: I hope not. Or, rather, I hope that it's there for those that want it, and for those that don't - they can do something else.

*rant over*

I would like to agree with paddy about the rugby aspect. I absolutley hated rugby and anyone who shared a house with me would deff back that up but as soon as i came out of CH I loved the sport. I joined a team and am now coaching. I plan to do RFU level 1 &2 (if i can find the backing). I think although everyone seemed to hate it when they were there I'm sure most of us have a tiny bit inside missing it.

Rugby was a joke last year, the gap between the 1sts and the 2nds was laughably big, the 2nds backs just didnt want to get hurt basically so avoided tackling and hid from the rucks. i was also a member of the U15A side that got banned in 2001, because none of the coaches wanted to coach us. It was a triumphant moment when rugby became no longer compulsory...because of us!!

I enjoyed rugby at CH, not because I was good, but rather a lack thereof. but since then I've played for Columbia, SC at 18, with the nearest person in age was 27, so just goes to show and i've lost my train of thought........
