For brass enthusiasts the NYBB (national youth brass band of great britain,) are playing in the cadogan hall on 7th April. Auditions are held in London for those of grade 8 standard of playing and above. This is a good band with expert tuition and two residentail courses a year for palyers of brass band instruments. This is the first time in the last few years the band has played in London and there were tickets left when I bought mine last weekend. It is a great opportunity to see the band in its 6oth year and Myrddin (UF Peele A) will be playing his tenor horn.
The Naitnal Childrens orchestra are playing at the same venue on the thirteenth. There are special tickets for a gala dinner afterwards with Julian Lloyd Webber. See the national childrens orchestra website for more details. Tickets for children under 16 are only £5 and the programme is a fun one.
Ages for the NCO are up to 14 at the eldest, and the NYBB are 12-18 year olds.
