Well I've signed up and paid so will hopefully be there on Saturday 6th October.

I have some family stuff going on at the moment so if I don't make it for any reason I hereby bequeath my little bottle of Merlot at lunch to Englishangel if she still lurks here at all :wine:

Frances, did you leave at the end of Upper Fifth? If you did your cohort is Class of '64 as they say in the U.S.
Caroline, Damaris maiden name was Gwilliam, very unusual. Never heard it before or since.
There are about 7 HOBs so far and at one point there were 7 women and 6 men, but checking just now the men have overtaken us.

No - July 1962, at the end of the Lower Sixth, so most of my year left in 1963 - perhaps I shall get an invitation next year? It seems odd though to work on the date that I might have left if only I could have stood my housemistress any longer!!

We had in our year a girl called Jane Gwillim, whose first name was actually Sarah - Miss Blench always insisted on calling her Sarah, to her annoyance. She was the daughter of the actor Jack Gwillim.

I look forward to seeing you too Andrew.

There seem to be a few of your old Barnes B contemporaries attending from my last look on the website.

Since I arrive in Guildford on the Friday, and recognise a couple of names, I might try and get over just to say hello after all these years. Maybe I can persuade my brother to come, who will be better known to the BaB lot.

I have ancestors from Bristol with the surname Gwilliam - lots of them buried in Westbury-on-trym churchyard. Unsurprisingly, it is of Welsh derivation. Maybe she and I are VERY distantly related!

Oh yes I remember Jane Gwillim, nice really jolly girl. Her brother was an actor too I seem to remember..

I remember her vaguely. Years after I left I saw her in a tv play which was being broadcast live. Unfortunately she "dried" briefly & had to be prompted. This is her Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah-Jane_Gwillim

SAS, Damaris came from Bristol (she is now sadly no longer with us). I spent a couple of weeks at her home at the end of my first year at CH, and remember that as where I first read A Portrait of Dorian Grey and going to Clifton Suspension Bridge, but not much else.

BY the way, anyone on Saturday who expects me to look like my avatar is going to be sorely disappointed (Mr Miller will be there I believe).
