It sounds as though OBs have all received two Christmas greetings; but current parents are never sent anything. Am I being cynical in guessing that no-one at CH bothers to court us because they know they’ve already squeezed us for every penny we might have to spare…
Last Wednesday evening I answered a phone call from a charming young representative of DH’s old University, who contact him regularly to ask for a donation.
"I’m afraid he’s not home at the moment" I said.
"Would there be a better time for me to call?" asked the young lady.
"Well" I replied, "I’m just watching the detail of George Osborne’s autumn statement on the news; can I suggest 2018?"
