a few years back now and I am aware that there are two sides to every story but CH rejecting someone "for financial reasons?"

Was it because the family had too much money, that used to be the case, but in 2009 I don't know.

I guess that is theoretically possible but, I suggest, perhaps unlikely with all that we have read over the last few years re the increases in the proportion of pupils paying full fees etc.

To me it loks like Kyle_11 hit it on the head; other non-academic interests. (see the first post for a link to Kyle_11)

We don't know the applicant's family status - if they are multimillionaires then that speaks for itself.

Otherwise for every CH place there are umpteen applicants, the shortfall being because the school just doesn't have the money to built an infinite number of new accommodation houses and employ an infintite number of extra teaching and other staff. The posted comment simply twists the facts and I'm not sure that I want CH to take people like that
