Admission of new boys

Has it always been and is it still the case that the admission of new boys at the start of the Michaelmas term is always a day or two after the rest of the school ? The much smaller Lent term intake was always on the same day as the others.

It is certainly the current practice for the girls!!!!

I don't think we had new girls any time other than the start of the school year. If I remember rightly, terms always started on a Friday and then the new girls would arrive on the Following Monday.
